Hi Peg_Pulsar, I know your post is from ages ago, but anyway.... my 93 GTI-R should be rolling into the Peg in the next couple of weeks. I've been a fan of these cars for a couple of years now, even took one for a test drive that a guy in North Kildonan was selling, but took too long to make a decision and it was sold the next time I called. Oh well, the one I have coming has 25000 less k's. :-D
This is sweet, i haven't seen any in winnipeg, but you say you looked at one in north kildonan. We have to get a meet with them sometime. What colour is yours? i can't wait to see another one.

Mine's black, of course. As close to stock as a 15 year-old car from Japan can be, it seems. I'm excited to build it up a bit.
I'm not sure if the guy that sold the Pulsar in North Kildonan sold it to a Winnipegger or not, so that car may or may not still be in the Peg.
Ya, they seem to be pretty much all black. mine is as stock as they get from the outside, but it has a few things done inside, not to many though and i am looking forward to getting it going. They are very quick, although something seems to be wrong with mine, i think the fact that the freaking intercooler is just sucking all the hot air from on top of the engine isn't helping it any.
Hey man let me know when you get your car... Maybe i'll be able to help you out with tips on how do get a safety or whatever.
My Pulsar's on the train to the Peg as I write this... it should be in town between Wed, Sept. 10th and Fri, Sept. 12th. I just received my Bill of Sale in the mail. Man, I'm excited! I'll let you know when I've got it on the road, or if I have any problems safety'ing it.
wow, that one guy on heights is really hating on gti-r's hey? People always seem to hate on things that are different or unique, so i guess our cars are targets.. :D I already had some kids throw a bottle at my car.. definatly cuz its different from anything they have seen, you can bet that if i was driving a cavalier they wouldn't have... or an srt-4 :D

Yeah, lotsa haters out there... guys that jump on you because you crack a few jokes piss me off. Ah well, onto better news.
I got my R!! Just put temp insurance on it yesturday and (unfortunately) working today, so all I've had a chance to do is put a new battery in the car. It runs strong though, and the car is in AWESOME shape, so I'm thrilled! Just gotta do a rad flush and put a new thermostat and block heater in. Anyway, I'm going to post more and some pictures in the "What size rims?" post.
Hey, did you get it on the road yet? I think i know who bought that other one that you were looking at, its a kid that lives in transcona. I'm just heading out to the last cruise night of the year, hope your car is going soon.
My dad told me he saw a gti-r today, and so did my buddy. Could this have been yours? My dad said it was a guy and a girl in it, it was black. My dad said it was on provencher coming from downtown. And my friend said he saw one on kimberly. Was one of these you?

Not sure about Provencher (although most likely that was my wife and I), but that was definitely me on Kimberly! I live a few blocks from there and drive up and down it all the time. Yeah, I'm really happy with the R. It's got great power, and handles really well as long as you're not pushing it too hard (and even now I still have the stock 14" rims with what looks like winter Pirelli's).
I bought a nice used set of 16" 5zigen rims straight from Japan that I'm going to save for performance summer tires next spring.
I've been getting a lot of head-turns and double-takes in it so far, with some people seeming to know what kind of car it is, while most don't.

It doesn't run to good, i have a new fuel pump coming, should be here soon enough so i can have it in on the weekend for the nissan meet on sunday. Soon i am getting a front mount intercooler, that should be able to be finished before it gets put away for the winter, then next summer, bov, cranking boost and just getting it to where i will probably keep it for a while, hopefully around 280-290 hp. Just so i can run with my brother, at least try too. He has a 91' escort thats pushing 350hp, its ridiculous. We like the pocket rockets...
I live in north kildonan too, i really want to see another R. Are you gunna make it out to the big winnipegheights meet? its on sunday at 4 or 5 at ass park. Hopefully i see you ripping around someday, i'm am always driving all around kimberly and that area too.
Ah, ripped two lines... they were the wrong size of hose. All of the hoses were 1/4". But two of them are supposed to be 5/16". Finishing it up tonight, probably rip it around for a bit tonight to see how she works. I'm not actually gunna replace the pump yet, i have 3/4's of a tank of gas...
