1. Get a big brake kit, even if its just an 11inch with 4 pistons like mine. I guarantee it will save your life and allow you to enjoy the car far more.
2. Don't get lazy on maintenance.
Nick, here is the plan for the car so far from what I read and learned.
-refinish the interior to 2008 specs and fix the rattles (ongoing task through the mod process)
-Get a 11 inch front brake kit, same as the other guy on this board.
-Get a good intake filter.
-Get a 3 inch turbo back.
-Get FMIC.
-Upgrade fuel. (new pump or kenne bell boost a pump)
-Boost controler.
-Tuning.
some items I will get as I find them, Engine and tranny mount, short shifter, stainless fluids tanks, braided hoses, new vacuum lines, relocate the battery to the trunk, new bushings thorough.
Once im done all this, I will most likely need a new clutch and new timing chain service.
I think its a well proritized path of execution?
I retinked the paint job and I will wait until next season, I might just do a fully flat black treatment for the mean time. :)

Hey all, I just moved out to the island (Campbell River) from southern Alberta. I've had my "little terror" for a couple of years now but haven't done much to it besides a bit of maintenance, and some odds and ends.
Hope to be a little more active on the forum, and it would be cool to meet up at some time. I've been lurking about the forum a bit, and it seems to be a good group here. (wait, that sounds creepy...)

But on a lighter note a cruise with other gtir,s would be sick. I have a friend with a black gtir were implanting a new motor this weekend ,after thats done theres 2 more cars ready to go.

hey guys i was thinking of picking up a gtir and i live in langley. just wanted to know if you have a lot of problems with cops when driving RHD. i am going to look at a pulsar soon and if there is anything i should know or ask or anything. i know about the sr20 motor as i drive a g20 now. iv always wanted a gtir and found one in my price range and would like to get it but dont want to get a lemon or get one that will be un-driveable. so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
i have not ever had problem with cops. in fact at a road check one night the cop knew all about the car loved it and asked if he could take it for a drive. love mine you will be happy if you get the right one, they are fun as hell to drive.

June 24 is the All Japanese Car Show at Gyro Park in Victoria. This show is put on by the Datsun Club over here. Should be a pretty good turn out. There were 300 cars there last year, but not enough RHD. RMI will be there with our GTi-R, amoung other vehicles. Let get some other GTi-R owners out.
It is pretty straight forward to get through inspection. Call me toll free at 1-800-921-4536 and I can explain what you will need to do. I may be able to put you in touch with a good inspection shop that will work with you on this to keep the price down as well
Spotted - GTi-R between Abbotsford and Yarrow. I was visiting my kids and saw you. I was a passenger in their car. You'd just left the highway, near the new A&W.
