Just a note for all, you may have noticed the site went down briefly this morning - I had a few websites on the same old server and they were starting to feel a little slugish, so I had them moved to a newer, faster server. Hopefully anyone that was having issues with the site loading slow will find it back to it's old glory! I haven't been spending nearly as much time here as I used to, but as always if you have any issues you can pm me, or use the site contact form - both go directly to my inbox.

That's great to hear, unfortunately I'm just now finding out that the server move also broke a whole bunch of the administrative side of the site (and who knows what else). It looks like it's time for a code update..
This would be a great time to add/remove/modify site features, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know!
(For anyone familiar with web development who is curious: we moved from a PHP 5.2 setup to PHP 5.3 on a different machine. The site is still running a fairly old Drupal 5 core, which throws a ton of errors on PHP 5.3. I'm now planning on basically rebuilding from scratch in Drupal 7, and migrating all users, nodes, comments, theme, etc.)
Anthing about images not always showing up in posts?

Thanks guys, that update was a long time coming. Now we're running a much more recent version of the site software, which will make future additions a lot easier. I'm already playing with a few ideas for new site features! Feel free to drop me any suggestions you have as well.

Hah, I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not (it was quite grainy)! Anyhow, I briefly opened a photo contest post to see if I could find a member car with the same angle as the old one, but I got finsihed the upgrade before I got any replies. I'm still open to suggestions though if anyone has a good shot ;)

Did it give you any errors or anything? was it just your first log in or subsequent login's as well?
No error messages. It's been like this since the change. I did find that when I nav to this site's home page and try right away it doesn't work. IF I nav to another page like "forums" THEN do the logon, it works first try.

Ya mine was not logging in today. Also I keep getting topic update emails even though I un-subscribed from those.
If you unsubscribed before the site upgrade, you'll probably have to do so again. I couldn't figure out an easy way to retain that data so I just started from scratch with everybody subscribed to their posts by default. If you unsubscribe now (or change the settings on your account page) you should no longer recieve the emails - let me know if this does not work.
As for the login issues, I'm a little stumped. I don't see any errors in the logs so I'm not sure exactly what's causing the problem. I'll keep investigating and hopefully have a fix in place soon.
Had a problem today too, logging int would not work as I always had the "non-logged in" header, but no error message. I've tried a different password and then it would tell me that my password is incorrect.
ok guys, I've made a change which *may* fix the issue. You will have all probably been logged out automatically, so let me know if you have any trouble logging in (as of now).

i miss the hyperlink to "1..2 new comments" at the top of each post, its a nice quick jump to the end of long threads
would also be nice if you mouse over a link to a thread and show if its got any new posts?
Added a filter to the image gallery for users (you can also click on the user gallery link). Also added jump links to jump to the end of long threads :)

the read first unread post link is good, maybe im blind and missed it before
but yes, the top 5 most recently posted threads next to the pictures, a mouse over that says " new unread posts or something" would b good
maybe a down and up arrow to shrink the size of the user side panel? that way short posts don't have several inches of blank space and require super mouse roll?

I'll think about a way to condense the side panel. I actually originally thought about hiding it completely (aside from the name and picture) and having the additional information popup on mouseover. After trying it out though it seemed very.. lacking. I mean, don't you want everyone to see your super high post count at first glance? ;)
