I have been thinking about this subject for the last few days. Many cars in the UK come from Japan already and are in good condition, many already really well done and maintained by some of the most anal retentive people on earth!!! those guys have bill to prove everything and in detail lists of everything that are done to the cars. Unlike japaneese which most of us cant read or write. And too often the cars coming from japan are borderline... they need major services and we usualy get provided with zero history on the cars. The price of cars are faily low and the choice is plenty when it comes to japaneese cars that qualify for import in canada. Look on piston head for a taste!
Why dont importer source more vehicle from UK? The cost of shipping is only roughly 1k canadian from UK to canada and the cost of vehicles are low...

cars are cheaper there and the shipping is shorter, you could bring it into halifax or where ever, but most of the cars in england ireland etc have had the crap beat out of them lol, and most people there dont grasp the concept that if you do engine mods you have to do all the supporting mods to have a relaiable car.
but if i was to bring over cars from home, it wouldnt be gtirs. id be importing cosworths, lancia deltas, golf rallyee's rs2000 escorts etc.
the plus side is however that if your lucky enough you can get a left hand drive gtir or whatever......
