Hey guys having been away for a while i bought a gtir yesterday and have an issue with it....
Basically its had a fully rebuilt gearbox but the old teanafer box put back on,anyway to a long story short it makes a whirring noise all the way through the gears and even not in gear when moving ie say when clutch is in... its fairly loud and more speed related than rpm...
Any ideas seller reckoned it was tranafer box but was unsure and also said it could be prop shaft vearings.... its deffo at the front of car by the soinds of it too...
Check if the sound is speed dependant or rpm dependant by free revving the engine with the clutch in and out in neutral. Then go for a drive. That will narrow things down a ton.
Cheers think i have narrowed it down to wheel bearings.....
