No ABS
From everything I read all Pulsar's came with abs, and from everything I can see, mine has no abs from the factory.
It's a 94, so the last production year. I have no abs obviously, no dash light, and from what my mechanic can see, there is no abs pump, or abs sensors on the wheels. Do I have a one off car?

i don't have abs also, mines a 1990 . i did switch my dash gauges to a "Mines" gauge cluster which has the ABS stamp (right below left n right turn signals) and i believe if a gti-r does have ABS that is where it will show there, also the cluster F*%$ of wires on the right top corner of the engine bay will show also haha.. cause my buddy has one with ABS .
yeah, definitely not all came with ABS

Not all the GTI-R's came with ABS as it only came out on the later years and not always.
Mine doesn't have ABS but it's pretty easy to tell that yours doesn't if your mechanic says there is no ABS pump or sensors... Well then there can't be. Easy way to tell if everything in your car is original is to turn the key to the ON position. The car should give you a light check which would turn on all the sensor check lights on in your dash (which of course turn off after you start the car and the sensors check out).
But your car isn't a one off it's just one later model car that wasn't built with it on like the earlier models.
abs was an option straight away, i have an early 90's model and it came with abs. build # 3697
My 92 has ABS but my 93 does not. I found that with stock brakes using same pads and rotors, the pulsar without ABS felt much better at stopping then the one with ABS. It's as if all the extra plumbing takes away from the brake cylinder's ability to compress the brake fluid.
there is an optional bigger mc u can go to... 1990 maxima 1inch mc or altima 1inch mc, u'll have to bend the brake lines, else if u can find a right hand drive one. i will probably be doing this in the summer
other optional 1" mc's that will bolt in but must be rhd
w10 primera wagon
p10 egt
u13 bluebird/altima
j30 maxima
Do you really think going from 7/8" to 1" master cylinder makes a big difference? I would consider doing this as the next step if the benefits are worthwhile.
it makes a difference. I went from a 7/8" to a 15/16" on my nx and it was an amazing difference. The pedal got rock hard.
gti-r mc is 15/16 btw
i'd only go bigger mc if u have upgraded the front calipers to say wilwood 4pistons for example.
I have the master cylinder bracket as well as Wilwood 4piston kit and braided lines all around...I believe that's the same setup as you Nick. Let us know when you get around to doing it to yours and give us some first hand experience feedback.
i also have no ABS in my can and i do prefer that. I have not done a break upgrade but sure makes me smile when i see that white stuff falling :D
why drive any car.... drive your dream car!
I would be really interested in doing bigger MC as well. I have been pretty frustrated with braking on each of my setups so far but I will see how the 6pistons and rear upgrade does this track season.
Nick do you know off hand if anyone has done a walkthrough on this upgrade on any of the other forums? I will search but thought you might have more info.
nope my information came from gtiroc, stating that the primera egt 1inch mc was bolt in, i have also found the maxima hj30 is bolt in on bluebird/primera's, altima mc's are bolt in b13's.. so if someone has a source of cheap rhd 1inch mc's that would be awesome. else we're limited to bending the oem lines to fit.
