Trolley Jack

I've got a Motomaster 2-Ton Trolley Jack & Stand, but the jack doesn't lift the car high enough.
so what are you guys using?

what do you want to do ?
use 2x10 wood pieces

^you mean for the front wheels to go up on or to rest the jack on?

rest the jack on, that will give you an extra inch and a half of lift.

tried the wood method still not high enough..I made the mistake of buying this motomaster from canadian tire.

so the next alternative is to buy a new jack, I need to get under the car as I want to change the gear box fluid etc
what can you guys recommend? Wouldn't mind paying some $ for a good quality one that gives me the lift I need.

multiple layers of brick is what i would do. you can pick up cheap brick from home depot or something. or from your neighbors driveway

^^But the thing with that is that is that the jack won't go under the car initially. Mine only has like 2 1/2 inches of clearance from the car. I have a powerfist i think, it lifts the car nice and high.

Try using some Macgyver skills. Drive the front wheels onto the two planks of wood or brick for clearance.

I know you're going to ask this next but then the jack doesnt lift the car high enough. So here is your hand holding for you.

1. drive front wheels onto wood to give it extra clearance.

2. jack the car as high as you can go.

3. put jack stands on

4. put the jack onto planks of wood or brick

5. jack the car up again

6. readjust jack stands

7. repeat as necessary till u get the height you need.

yea I'll give that method a shot with the blocks of wood.
I'm a bit wary of using brick, least it crumbles apart!!
