someone help lol
ok got the car on the road now ive got another problem. my cluster lights arent working, well i mean the speedo, tach, fuel gauge, all the big gauges. my heater controls dont light up either, neither do tht elighst for my stock gauges above the heater controls. but the funny thing is that all my warning lights, headlights, 4-ways etc all work when i pull on the high beams, signals etc. Ive checked all the fuses yesterday and they're all good apart from the air con fuse.... keeps blowing everytime, ive tried 10a 15a and 20a fuses keeps blowing.
my headlights and tail lights work perfectly.... so im hoping someone can shed some light or something mayeb youve had a similar probelm......

check your fuse box ground dude, my truck had the same sort of problem and it ended up being a ground, give that a try, might help you out
I just had the exact same problem - except it was my tail light fuse that kept blowing - same deal though, none of my dash lights would work but all of the 4ways and headlights were fine. Turned out to be the stereo I had just installed, of all things! there was a wire in the stock radio loom that I thought to be a ground but ended up being something else (still not sure what it is) and it was shorting out the gauge lights. If you have an aftermarket cd deck you might want to give that a try, you never know.
i know my ac is blowing coz the main relay in the engine bay has a cracked base, easy to fix lol i just installed a deck as well, strangely enough. my buddy put it in for me, but im thinking taking it somewhere to get it professionally fised, what did you do, do you know which wire it is? or what its suppoed to go to

well when I first installed the deck I tested all the wires with a volt meter, and one of them seemed to be a ground, so I used it - turns out it WASN'T a ground, and was actually the +12 from the dash light circut - its possible your friend made the same mistake. If you want to give it a try you could take out the deck and cut the ground wire - then replace any blown fuses and try the lights - if they work then thats your problem!
cool im going to take a look at it tonight, i know the aircon is blowing but im not worried about aircon in the winter lol.
thanks

sorry I don't remember off hand - I know it was striped though =) and it was a dark wire - maybe black with a blue stripe or something like that?
ok well i have the same thing that happened to me this week. ahhh!!!!! i installed my deck and after everything was fine untill it got dark then i reliezed that i didnt have running night lights for the back and my dash wasnt lite up nor does it buzz any more when i open my door and the key arnt in it and my lights are on. sooo i believe its that ground i used! i need to no how to reverse this or what fuse i got to change because i cant find any fuses that are bad at all. please let me no what u think!
sonds stupid but the ground isnt really a ground, you need to run it to power, ill ask my buddy again he helped and let you know

ok sounds good i have been going nuts this week trying to figure it out!!! just happy to see that atleast other people had the problem
there is a wiring diagram on here somewhere for the stereo. abide by the simple rule of ALL stereo installs - that the deck ground is always grounded to the chasis. Take your black wire from the deck and cut it from whatever you've connected it to. Tape off the wire going to the car, it is most likely not needed. Crimp a ring connector onto the end of the black wire and screw your deck mounting brackets to their spot on the chasis and stuff the screw through the ring connector so the connector contacts the chasis and becomes the ground for the stereo.
Check fuses and 9.9 times out of 10, you'll have your lights back.
