Make sure you check because some wheels, including Rota's, have a lower hub bore on some of their products and you will have to find a place to bore them so they will work on the GTIR. Also an important number to know if you are buying spacers.
4 x 100. As for offsets, +40 to + 35 work. I'm running +35's on 15X6.5 OZ Superturismo's for winter. I'll check the 17's I have for offset..

i run 15 x7 +35 with a 5mm spacer.. its where i like it.. the sapcer isn't necessary with 205/50/15 tires

I run 17x7.5, 45 offset with a 15mm spacer. Tires are 215/40/17 which is not the accurate diameter but fit fine.
