so you guys use a front bearing for the rear?

Posted: Tue, 02/02/2010 - 7:43pm

They are all the same because of the awd. I have replaced all 4 on mine 2 years ago and been perfect.

are the rear wheel hubs the same as the fronts??

Posted: Sun, 03/21/2010 - 7:44am

looks like hubs are not according to nissan4u index, they're different front and rear. Same front hub also listed on 100NX = NX2000 NA model

Hub road wheel, front   2 1.476 kg / 3.258 lb
4020250Y00 '90, October — '92, October 92-95 later alternate: 4020250Y10
shares with 100nx=nx2000

Hub rear   2 1.798 kg / 3.969 lb
4320260Y00 '90, October — '92, October 92-95 later alternate: 4320260Y10

nb. front hub number in gtir specs in header has extra digit

I am hearing this weird noise coming from left side the faster I go ... sounds like a bearing and last time I checked it was getting loose .. anyways my question is ? do I need to buy just the bearing or do I also have to change the hub ? thank you

Posted: Wed, 03/24/2010 - 12:02pm

you can take the hub to a shop and have the old one pressed out and the new one pressed in..  Its usually cheaper in the case of the rear hubs on the GTiR it definitely cheaper!

So when I go to replace my wheel bearings do I also need to replace the inner and outer seals? Is it worth it to buy a bearing removal/installation tool. Sorry for the noob questions... I have quite a bit of experience with cartridge bearings but only with bicycles so my tools only work for much smaller bearings.

Inner seal

Outer seal

Bearing tool

you might aswell replace the seals if your doing the bearings. odds are your going to wreck the seals taking them out any ways. i have the same kit aswell works good. when u take the old bearing out save the bearing but take it all apart. then take a grinder to the out side of the outer race to make it sightly smaller than original. you now have a perfect sized bearing pusher for install :) works mint :)

I just recently installed my front wheel bearings and they went in perfect. Bearing tool is really handy, glad I bought it. I used Toyota Celica AWD 90-93 bearings and they are the same. Pretty much just used the bearing number as a reference (can't remember what that was). My question is how do I find the correct inner and outer dust seals. The ones provided don't work for the Pulsar (they were free so no biggie). Will the NX dust shields work? I am changing all 4 bearings so will dust shields be the same for all 4?
Reference numbers for front dust shields are
Inner NOK BD4376E
Outer NOK BD4374E

*edit* looks like they are the same as the NX 2.0 dust covers. Found them on Autopartsway.ca However they are about $8-$10 a piece............ $80 for dust shields? wtf
