Noob question

Hi I was just wondering what this fluid is. I've asked a few friends but they didn't seem to know either. Cause below is the brake fluid then the one below that is the power steering fluid. :S IMG_2381.jpg

alright forgot it was a hydraulic clutch :P too used to cable clutches. Is that fluid the same as brake fluid and how do I change it or does it really matter if I change it of not?

same fluid as the brakes, open the nipple on the slave cylinder, let it leak out- make sure there is no air bubbles when you put back fluid in

its a good idea to get some fresh stuff in there get 2 pop bottles one with a few CM of fresh fluid in it and piece of clean break line.

Place the brake line on the clutch slave bleeder nipple.

place the other end of the brake line in the empty pop bottle. Crack the bleeder screw and have a buddy press the clutch pedal to pump all the old fluid out. Have him hold down the pedal while you get the pop bottle with fresh fluid.

Place the break line in the new pop bottle fill the reservoir with fresh fluid.

Tighten the bleeder screw and have your friend release the clutch pedal.

top up the reservoir.
press and hold the pedal, open the bleeder screw and repeat until no bubbles or dirty fluid come out.

OK...I KNOW THIS IS AN OLD THREAD! SORRY TO BRING IT BACK FROM THE GRAVE BUT, WHEN PUTTING THE CAP BACK ON...THE CAP DOESNT SEEM TO BE HELD ON VERY TIGHTLY? THERE ARE TABS ON THE LID BUT THEY WILL NOT GO OVER THE TABS ON THE RESEVOIR...IS THIS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM?

The tabs don't overlap, they just sit beside one-another. My lid is tight though, probably due to the black rubber seal inside the lid. Is you rubber seal worn out / cracked / dried up? If you twist the lid around, does it get tighter or more loose? Maybe your reservoir is out-of-round?
