LSD Diffs?
I've been wanting to tighten up the drive train on my car for a while. I'm looking at getting a front diff for my R. Right now there is a nismo clutched unit that I'm interested in.
My question is, what kind of diff should I go for? I know that the stock centre and rear units are viscous and the front is open.
Viscous units tent to wear out right? Should I be changing all of the diffs to aftermarket ones ideally?
Which diffs are better for road racing, off road, snow etc?
I want to get a perfect setup before I drop 2-3 gs on a set of diffs.

The choice is quite limited you can only get aa rear lsd from cusco and front from modena
wow thread from the dead. I'm somewhat more learned now on well....everything GTIR related.
I'm waiting for a used modena to go on sale so I can pounce on it for the front. Then I would like to get a clutched nismo or cusco 1.5 way rear.
Finally I'd kill to find a ACD from one of the rally GTIR's. I have my buddy who has an 05 sti. One push of a button and he can do powerslides with most of his torque at the rear.
i have a modena front lsd, just fitted to the transfer case but never used. Does a very good job apparently.
On the rear, the cusco is only one vway
Could you not use a diff that was made for a different car that uses the same differential? r180 is it not? I'm sure there are a load of cars with the same diff.
Edit: Is that a Modena for sale? or you have one and are not sharing....
buy my gtir and you can have the beta front lsd :) even though my car isnt a beta !

my modena is not for sale sorry
are there any other cars that share the same differential? Could I shop for a clutch lsd for another car and drop it into our pumpkin?
A friend is selling a nismo 2 way rear LSD in rreally good conditions.
I've decided that a 2 way is a little aggressive. Looking for a one way clutched rear and a torsion front. It would be awesome if modena made some torsion centre lsd's too with a slight rear bias! 45/55 or 40/60. In a friends 05 STI the car is fastest on a 35/65 split, but that might be a little extreme if you can't adjust it.
Anyone have a Modena Front LSD for sale?
