Probably a stupid question, but what's the dash light next to the cel for? It looks like a cat converter overheating. From the manual it seems to be only on the gti-r cluster. It would help if I could read Japanese.
You're absolutely right, that's the Exhaust Gas Temperature light.
Really. The car has a built in egt, or is it more a dummy light for the 02 sensor?
it's a temperature probe that sticks in the cat. overheated cat can be a sign of a plugged cat. plugged cat = too much backpressure which can eventually = blown engine.

you can unplug it underneath the drivers seat, remove the cat, put in a testpipe and be happy :D
Ya i just pulled mine out when i put my exhaust on. No problems, no codes or the like.
