Once I do a set that are good enough for me, I can turn them out like hotcakes, I could do around 100 shipped anywhere in Canada or the US (continental) for a set of clear .60 acrylic lenses. The stuff is very strong, but if you wanted bullet proof I could also do Lexan. The cost would be around double though.

so does the $100 account for just the parts to modify our headlamps or will this be a kit where we have to modify it on our own?

count me in I want projectors on R since I hate the 12000K HID kit thats on my R right now which basically screams at the cops "pull me over" brightness!!!! Keep us updated as I want to be one of the first ones since I will be driving this car at night pretty often

I finally got a lens that I would consider good enough to put in my car. I'll post pics.

For the $100 you get 2 clear acrylic lenses, that will replace the fluted glass, and they will be shipped to your door. You are still responsible for getting a projector kit.

If you want you can pm me and I'll point you in the right direction to do this yourself. Just know that It's not easy, and took me about 8 tries to get it right. Which is a fair bit of material. Or you can cough up 100 bones, and know that you are getting a guaranteed set.

How much for set of lights and all converted to projectors

Right now I'm not tackling that. Not only would you have to ship yours to me so that I could convert them, you'd be looking at a downtime on your car unless you could find spares. Plus I don't keep a stock of projector kits because I'm not a business. The turnaround Time would be slow, and it would be expensive for you even if I didn't make any money for my work. But there are several hours into a conversion, with plenty of baking and risk to the light housings.

You are better off just doing the conversion yourself. If you are really interested, then you can pm me and I'll work out a price for you.

A bud of mine pointed me in this direction. Better than a sentra headlight conversion because it looks much more OE.

Well i'm pleased to say that I finished the blanks or plugs. Tonight I will be pulling some lenses for real! Hopefully the hours of priming and wet sanding get rid of most of the imperfections in the molded plastic. Either way I think I'm going to be making new plugs out of a different material other than plaster. Plaster is nice to work with because it is cheap and sets fast, but also a pain because it picks up foreign material quite easily, and doesn't sand nicely. Not sure what I'll go with next time, but I'll see how these lenses turn out. Pics to come when I finish.

Sorry for the delay.

Got 2 lenses made, but I'm not happy with the quality. I'm forced to heat the plastic too much because it cools quickly when I'm trying to vacform it. This results in a distorted lens that gets brittle, and air pockets can also form in it. Right now I'm building a custom oven that will be a part of the forming assembly. This way i can run MUCH lower temps and have plenty of time to form it. This is turning into a serious manufacturing project!

In the end it will result in a good product I'm hoping, and I can start distributing these for all you guys that want HID projectors or have to comply to DOT or TC standards.

These will be DOT approved? Cuz i know in Manitoba they have to have dot printed into them for them to be "legal" otherwise the they can't be on manitoba roads. How did you get them DOT approved?

The lens has to be dot approved because it has too meet the beam pattern specifications. The fluting on the glass lens makes the beam pattern. This is a clear lens. Therefore it is the projector or the actual beam emitter. That would have to be approved. But the beam pattern is correct for our roads, and that's what I'm concerned about. Will it pass tech? Maybe, maybe not. Are they looking specifically for the DOT stamp? or are they seeing the beam pattern, and noticing that it is a RHD beam pattern and then pointing out the lack of DOT.

Having trouble finding a supplier for heater element wire. Might have to steal an element off a toaster oven or something.

I did that, but had to ghetto in some other lights. If you lived in winnipeg you'd understand the madness going on with the cops pulling over every tuner there is. I'm lucky i havent been tagged yet. They're pulling us over cuz they know they'll be able to find something not "legal" (even though its perfectly safe)on our cars, cuz they have new cop car paint jobs to do, and police helicopter to pay for.
