TRANSMISSION STUCK IN 3RD!

ok guys! i need your help...yesterday i was driving along and i went to shift into fourth and it would not go, so i tried again stil nothing, now in any position iput my shifter into it remains in 3rd, except i can not put it in 4th postion at all and if its in any other position but 3rd it just stalls my car instant, not when im in neutral i am in 3rd, and when you push my car it has a clunk that sounds liek it is comming from the transmission as well...any thoughts before i take the trans out and get a wonderfull surpise

my trans did that similar thing the other day but wouldnt go into 1st or second. eventually it worked its way and is now fine. i changed the fluid in it and now its a ok. yours does sound worse than mine. the fluid in my trans hadnt been changed in what looks like a long time. if your trans is cooked sentra racer has one i was gonna get from him but u sound like you need it far more than i do.maybe give him a om hes very fast to respond and got me a shipping quote very quickly. if you dont get it i will still pick it up tho.

Hey liquidpuls, I guess you weren't having this problem when I met you at the Tavern Sunday night?! Crazy how fast the condition of our GTI-R's change, eh... hopefully you get this worked out sooner than later, dude.
