stuck in 3rd, help?

verified useralright i picked up another gti-r last weekend, this ones a beta that has been on this site before. i got it for a good price because its stuck in 3rd gear, the shifter moves around but its only usable in 3rd gear, it drives fine, but wont shift out. i just got it in the garage today and plan to start ripping it apart, i was wondering if anybody had any pictures of how the shifting linkage looks? it looks like this one is pulled out some? any suggestions? i've been reading that it could be the linkage, the shifter fork could be broken inside. im working a lot and am trying to avoid dropping the motor, i finally got the built motor in my other pulsar (which is still on the other side of the country if anybody would like to buy it!) any help is appreciated, thanks!

sorry dude, trans is probably going to have to come off, check the shifter itself first, and the shifter rods. If everything is fine on the outside, you know what you have to do.
had the same issue with my beta trans.. \i just replaced it... now ive got a betta transon a stand... lol im so lazy

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THIS SUMMER, I HAD TO SWAP THE TRANNY OUT!
bought a new engine hoist and got it on stands, time to see whats wrong with it haha
I think I am having a similar problem. Sometimes it's hard to get into 1st and at times can't shift into 4th at all. What's the deal?
Sacrateez - it seems like your 1st and 4th synchro's are starting to go on you....If anyone wants to buy a used tranny gear set let me know I have no use for mine now that I have a PPG :) Just under 100,000km on it, synchro's are fine and all the gears like new. PM me if your interested.
