Spec Clutch Installation Issues
Has anyone installed a Spec clutch on there Gti-r? I ordered one up and the bearing worked but the pressure plate does not fit. I can get two pins to line up and the third is a complete hole off. Clutch number is SN663H and my transmission is a 1990. Is there any chance they used different flywheels between the rally edition and road edition models? Thanks
the pressure plate is the same application as a s13, i don't think the flywheels differs from rb to ra models. i'm using a competition clutch and flywheel for a s13. do you have a pic of the flywheel?
The weight of it was 19lbs 9oz.
I talked to a couple forum members on sr20forum.com and the flywheels are the same. I also talked with paul from specs customer service department to solve the issue. The pressure plate is now on but it was a pain to install compared to others I've done. You can see below how well the pins lined up with the holes. I had to hand start all the bolts then slowly tighten them evenly to get the pins to pop through and sit correctly.
