Reusing used stock pistons

Hi Guys, My engine is currently undergoing a stock rebuild and I was wondering if it was ok to reuse my old pistons instead of buying 4 new OEM ones. I would obviously change the rings for now ones.

since u have it open, i'd put in forged pistons so u can run big boost later.. sure its a few more hundred dollars.. but it saves u in the long run if u plan to stick a bigger turbo and more boost on it

...i feel the same about this, may as well spend the money now before you need to

I dont plan on making anything too big out of it ... aiming 300 hp which can be done no problem with the stock setup.

then go with oem pistons, rehone, new rings.. if you're happy with 300 then thats great

so reusing my actual pistons shouldnt be a problem if they look in good order

Yes the used factory pistons are fine. New rings, hone the cylinders, and crank the boost. Make sure your cylinders are true though. A bore gauge is a must. How many KM on your engine?

106 000 kms but im pretty sure it was rolled back anyway

yeah at 100,000 it might be time to check the bore. Probably fine to just throw a new set of rings on though.

By checking the bore I mean to make sure that the taper isn't too bad.
