Replacing the Clutch Master Cylinder

Hey guys I'm new to this thread. i just bought my Gti-R a week ago for cheap since it needed a new clutch master cyl. What's the easiest way to get at it back there? I know the top mount inter-cooler will have to come off but will i have to also remove my intake partially? Or would it be best to just take it to a shop to get that all done and me not even try replacing it myself? I've done it before on a different car which had lots of room and i was all done in not even a half hour.
and one other thing, i understand the thermostat for these cars is from the bottom rad, hose not the top?

you dont need to replace it, you acn buy a rebuild kit thats will save you money. the easiest way is to remove all the piping and resevoir, what i did was to disconnect from the back of the clutch pedal, you can remove that U shaped bracket, that way you can bend the cylinder once you remove all the bolts, the arm does flex enough for you to get it out

once its out its as easy as pie to get it rebuilt

Can you guys post the part numbers etc for the clutch master rebuild kit and the info regarding the complete unit you purchased? That info would help everyone out I am sure. This is a very common issue amongst gtir owners. Thank you in advance

http://ztune.com/product.aspx?productid=7893e4e6-9489-dd11-92c4-0003ff2732c9 thats where i got mine, But as for the rebuild kit I'm not sure. And just to add, I talked to the guy on the phone there and he said any OEM part i would need he could get if i called him. like most of us needing to do our rear rotors that dont match to any north american nissan i might have to call him and ask him what price he can get those in for. The clutch master cyl arrived at my door in 2 days! hope this helps someone else out there.

That Z-tune site you mentioned seems very reasonable... I could use a new set of rear rotors....

I pulled my master cylinder apart in hope of locating a master cylinder rebuild kit which will work for the GTiR.
I found a rebuild kit which i think will work, i did a search for '5/8 nissan clutch master cylinder' and the part number 30610 pics all seem to look like what i took apart from my GTiR
30611n4025_b.jpg
The kits for Maximas, 300zx, skyline, altima ect. ect. all use the same 30610k part number on www.courtesyparts.com

http://www.courtesyparts.com/240sx-parts-s13-1989-1994/genuine-nissan-parts/power-train/305-clutch-master-cylinder/-c-1418_1419_...

in addition the part number page backs up my theory
http://www.canadagtir.com/articles/nissan-pulsar-gti-r-part-numbers

So i'm gonna order this kit and i will let you guys know weather or not it works, if it does i have a new clutch master cylinder for under $40, and if it doesn't i have an S13 so i win either way

Okay just recieved the kit in the mail, it is 80% the same. the only difference is the rubber boot that goes on the end of the cylinder. the 240 one is shorter but other than that the internals of the master cylinder are exactly the same

from what i remember, the rebuild kit should 100% interchange with the rebuild kit for a north-american Nissan Pulsar NX (1987)
