so now that i am having engine problems...im thinkging about a complete build...when building am i keeping in mind that this is for an awd sr20det or does it matter...internals are internals am i right? because i know for the clutch it matters im just wondering if its anything else
clutch s13/s14 sr20det
flywheel can use an s13/14 with the flywheel holes drilled out to accept larger gti-r bolts or get a gti-r flywheel
pistons can be any sr20det
you can use any sr20det rod, but you'll give up the gti-r bearings that are 19mm but you can use any sr20det bearing that is 17mm, else you can reuse the beefy gti-r rods with acl gti-r race bearings
use a metal ve or cosworth headgasket or hks hg
there's so much more, do more homework before u go out and buy stuff.
ya i am doing my homework i just wondered if the internals were the same...i know you need differnet head bolts, and rods
were do u buy ill this parts for the gtir am here in the usa and it so hard to find anything

try ebay for austrailia...its weird youll come up with tonnes of stuff thats the only time i ever find anything
ebay.com.au - and ebay.co.uk are good sites for gtir/sunny sr20det parts for the gtir specific engine.
for other homework - register on gtiroc and read through the build threads they have there.

frsport.com has good pricing and has all the gaskets, water pump, oil pump that you'll need
you can also try http://www.gspec.com/ for parts as well
ebay is great for acl bearings
thats all you'll really need for a rebuild is those 3 sites
