oil in turbo

1)i have oil in my turbo i thought the seal was blown but it's not because there's oil before the turbo to. It seems to be coming out of the crank case ventilation hose that gose to the intake tube any idea's i do believe something is plug wrong but i can't find a vacuum diagram

2) i plugged to the hole on the side of the blow off valve:in serie each individual throttle body. And the hose that goe's from the intake to the stock blow off to the back of the after market blow off( it's a hks super sequential but from earlier years. It seems to work the pressure release's right away on the boost gauge but still not sure about the 4 throttle body's.How did you guy's get it done

I no there's suppose to be a bit i have owned lot's of turbo cars before and worked on alot of them, so i can tell you from previous experience that there's way to mutch.

maybe your PCV valve is broken, in the mean time you can run a catch can to save your turbo and intake track from getting all oiled up!

factory catch can gunks up over time. Replace the pcv and put in a decent after market catch can,,, all done.. less oil

where is the pcv on our engines? Right by the factory oil separator?

does anybody want to post a picture of their catch can setups?

^ ya the site doesn't always pull up the pictures the first time you view the thread. Try refreshing or press F5, usually does the trick.

The PVC valve is located at the back left of the cover. I don't have a pic handy for that tho.

I would make positive the pcv is operating correctly, if you pull it off, you should be able to put your mouth on the threaded side and blow through it, it should close when you try to suck air back through. If it's not doing exactly that, your probably getting a lot of crankcase pressure. In that case the only outlet is through the oil separator (if it's not blocked) and your intake. If your pressurizing your crankcase, you'll find a hell of a lot more oil in your intake than normal. If the pcv is working perfectly, I would do a compression check. Your maximum should be 164psi for a really healthy engine, and minimum of 135psi for a well run engine (but still runnable.) The pressure between any cylinders should not be greater that 14psi. If your compression numbers don't meet those numbers, you may be getting too much ring blow by, or have a bad head gasket(unlikely with just your symptoms.) If you do in fact get an aftermarket catchcan, make sure that IF you get a vented one with a filter on top, you should block off the oil vent tube going to the intake pipe. If you dont, your maf will detect unmetered air at idle, because it will be pulling it through the catchcan filter. Or just try and get a non vented catch can:)

here's a DIY catch can if you don't feel like spending heaps of money on one!
The hoses should be 16mm.
http://www.pbase.com/rsrock/oil_catch_can

Measure the ID of the hose that goes from the rocker cover to the air intake tube between the air filter and the turbo inlet.

Buy the appropriate fittings and the right size filter from the local hardware store. Assemble and install.

Also, you can block the pipework that exits the back of the rocker cover (by the throttle cable side) by buying the appropriate kit from stevepudney on the gtiroc forum.

Good luck!

^ how did you set it up ?

buy any no name catch can, remove the hose from valve cover by the distributor to the intake pipe.

replace that pipe with the hose provided (else find your own) and vent the can to air.

cap the inlet on the intake pipe.

have been running this way for 3+ years.
