LEANING RIGHT OUT
i have ad this this air/fuel autometer gauge , that plugs on to the o2 sensor, for ever never put it on cause i am running stock set up so i figured no point but today ad nothing to do so i put it on and to my suprise my car leans right out.
1)At first on idle it,s a little rich and then the needle goes way in the lean and looses the reading.
2)As soon as i press on the gaz it goe's lean to rich back and fort non stop and then i gun it and it goes way in the lean.
3)After gunning it when i let go of the gaz it goes back in the ritch for a second and back at lean goes back and fort a bit to from lean to rich .
I now it's a bad description but could it be a bad reading from the o2(a bad o2) or if it is leaning out wath would cause it to do it like that. Any ideas would be very mutch appreciated
thanks!

if you are running a narrow band sensor it sounds like the correct operation.
ya i'd agree, i had one and it bounced all around but was a fairly good indicaiton. when the a/f reading gets biased on the fat side and goes slow up and down [slow motion] the o2 sensor is done or the reference hole on the side of the sensor is plugged.
None the less, if it is reading lean it's something to investigate; pull the plugs and if WHITE then there's the answer. Check the plugs for proper colour.
Noticed anything "funny" with the exchange rates and parts prices lately:

I always thought o2 sensors were a few hundred bucks. How would you know if yours is done without an a/f gauge? My plugs look pretty dark to me, and fuel economy has been getting worse, could this be a messed o2 sensor? Also could a rough idle also be an indication of it aswell? I might consider getting one since they are only 60 bucks on that site..
This is possibly the best piece of info on 02 sensors Ive ever read.. tot he point and accurate
