car running weird

ok so i am on my home today and my car starts sputtering...but not dying nothings claking or pinging im getting proper fuel pressure of what i was before my, its a jumpy acceleration, im scared to build the boost so i cant see if i am building to what it is set at, im at pressure oil temp and cool temp, and it does run at idle...and cruise normaly, but my clutch isnt slipping but if i give it a little bit more gas then needed it will blurp power and then cut out again? could this be a timing issue/distributor problem? i need help asap!!

is yours the one at jackson right now? my dad was in there to pick up some parts and said he saw one in the back of the shop

NOPE MINES NOT AT JACKSON...BUT IM DOIN A COMPRESSION TEST IN THENEXT DAY OR SO...IVE CHANGED DISTRIBUTOR CHEACKED SENSORS AND SUCH AND THATS NOT THE PROBLEM IT SEEMS SO THATS THENEXT THING...ACOUPLE OF US THINK I DROPPED A CYLINDER

major boost leak or the fuel pump or the maf or plugs/wires/caprotor

Posted: Thu, 07/09/2009 - 9:43pm

ok so heres the low down now!compresion cyl 1: 145 2: 124 3: 120 4:125 vaccum: is a steady -10 psi at the boost gauge sensor or a jumpy -14 further up the same line
spark plug gap is .40 number one pplue is a bit foul rest to seem running a bit rich cap and rotor have been replaced
did find one cracked line did cut down to fresh hose and put back on

and i also took the MAF out and cleaned it so the car seems to be running a little bit better and am having trouble finding where all the hoses go to! anything else i should be looking at, it seems to me like my number one cylinder has a carbon build up, but at least i dont have a blown piston of any sort, so there could still be a vaccum problem or my timing is out, but if my timing is out why would it just go out like that all of a sudden?
now heres the weird thing, the roughness now seems to go away when i hit about 3000 rpm, i do have a power loss but after today its not as great of one as before? still studders at low rpm

120 is around the bottom end of the serviceable limit. - you'd not want anything lower. Did you do the test on a warm or cold engine?

the timing should still be fine. although it would not hurt to check - do you have a timing light or access to one?

Check your fuel pump. My car started stuttering at low rpm and I replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, and plugs all at the same time and now its good to go!

well the motor wasnt warm...but it wasnt exactly cold either

well so it turns out after all my hard work and reaserching that the plug in for the feul injector number one was loose and had been doin it for awhile and it also turns out that all the clips that hold the plug in on all the other ones were broken as well...so EVERYONE LOOK AT YOU INJECTORS FIRST!!

Hey Ryan, that was me at Jackson. I had them replace my alternator, they gave me a good price and I didn't have the time to do it myself. My R is back there again today, though, cause I think I have a vaccuum leak. Or my ignition control module is dying. Fun fun.
