BC aircare
Just curious what everyone else is getting.
In the computer I'm considered a nissan pulsar nx 2.0
This was done aug 14 2009
Driving Test Max Allowable - Vehicle Reading - Average Passing Reading
Hydrocarbons PPm 235 - 21 - 64
Carbon Monoxide % 1.73 - 0.22 - 0.27
Nitrogen Oxide PPM 2493 - 330 - 913
Idle Test
Hydrocarbons PPm 315 - 32 - 41
Carbon Monoxide % 3.68 - 0 - 0.06

looks about right compared to mine...
in ontario we have to do a 40km/h test on a dyno but the drive clean dynos are only 2WD.
AWD cars get away with just a two stage idle.. that's what saves us.
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
In BC we do a 40km/hr drive test and have awd dynos. I had no problems :D as shown above
im ontario they dont put the car on a dyno for the drive clean as its only 2wd, they do a 2 stage test, first at 2500rpm and 4000rpm i think may not be exact but its def at 2 different rpm levels... well thats how they done mine
BOTTLES ARE FOR BABIES.. REAL MEN GET BLOWN
Aww who wants a cookie for there AWD E tested clean machean. nick does.. here nick come get your cookie,, and then maybe a gold star. LOL j/K
admitadly Im glad we don't have AWD e-tests here
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
i like my cookies and gold stars! rumor has it bc aircare will be gone after 2011, i surely hope so. I'm tired of putting the cat back in every other year
if that's true then theres another point to move out west
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
I wish i could get a cookie too! hahaha... But in Quebec there are no clean air tests needed for cars (i think its only done when you go for inspections etc), even though some old beaters would fail these kinds of tests hard!
BTW when you buy or sell a car in BC or Ontario does it have to pass inspections before the new owner can drive it?
you do not need a reinspection if you remain within BC. it just has to have valid aircare passes.
aircare passes are valid only for 1 year.
ie. if i passed aircare july 30, 2009, then myself or the next owner must buy insurance before july 30, 2010. if i need to renew my insurance or the new owner needs to buy insurance after this date, i'd have to go get retested.
what i do is handle 2years worth in a 2 week span.
july 30, 2009 remove test pipe and put in catalytic converter, go to aircare and i pass
august 4, 2009 i buy insurance (valid from aug 4 2009 - aug 4 2010)
august 7, 2009 i go to aircare again and pass. now this aircare is valid till august 7, 2010. remove my catalytic converter and install test pipe
august 4, 2010 i buy insurance since my pass from august 7 2009 is still valid.
repeat process in 2011
august 1, 2011 i would have to put my catalytic back in and go to aircare again.
this will enable me to buy insurance until 2013 when the process needs to be repeated.
good logic on that... haha im sure theres a bunch of ppl that complain about going every year but haven't figured it out.
quebec is so cool for that
there is no airclean test or anything . so dont bother about the gaz ,
Hi!Nick: In your way, will the insurance still valid? You know, when there is a claim, ICBC will try every effort for not pay. If there is an accident on Aug 10, 2010, will ICBC say, your air test expired, and a valid air test is required for insurance. so they just refuse to pay anything. I don't have intention to affend anyone, just want to get things clearly.
example
January 1, 2010 go to aircare
January 14, 2010 renew insurance
January 1, 2011 aircare expires, you must get one done
get in an accident january 10, 2011 no valid aircare, but have valid insurance - would you be refused coverage?
January 14, 2011 insurance expires
or example 2
you fail aircare, you operate on temp insurance for 3 months, you get in an accident are you not covered b/c you don't have aircare?
maybe my question to you will answer your question
who're you?
i'm mi, who are you?
no i'm me, you're you?
no he's yu and i'm mi
Actually, I hope u r right. I will live in Vancouver in 3 months, and half time go to Vernon for work. I want to ship my car to BC. But not sure if it can pass air test. If not, I'll get it insured in Vernon, but will still drive a little in Vancouver. Then I'm warned by Autoplan broker that if I have accident in Vancouver, CIBC will try to refuse pay for that. He said even through I widen my coverage to Vancouver, my insurance is still invalid because an Vancouver insurance only valid with a valid air pass certificate. They just feel I play around with them. I really don't know how things work in BC.
it depends where your main residence is and majority of time is spent. that is not an aircare issue, that is an insurance fraud issue.
aircare should be a non issue so long as your Catalytic converter is working, 02 sensor is not dead, timing is on, idle is good, no boost leaks, and have ok plugs. the gti-r has no egr.
Just curious what everyone else is getting.

you've got some pretty good result for a nx pulsar :P
do you have fuel management or any tune on dyno before ?
nope stock ecu, and mines ecu. same results
its just the 02 feedback part of the map which is generally not touched
good cat, good 02, tps working and set, 1x a year fuel filter, 1x a year plugs, wires, 1x a year cap n rotor, 4x a year clean air filter, timing is on, oil change every 4000km
basic maintenance.
car runs perfect
