Winter driving.......
This is just a qyuck thread seeing who is driving their gtir in the winter...and what (if any) problems you might be having. Mine takes a while to warm up and i am thinking that my thermostat might be stuck open.

u had to replace ur windshield? did u get one from a infinity g25? or ...?
Ur not JDM till ur RHD
I drive mine every day - but the weather in the UK is shit - just wet, windy and miserable. Trouble is when we do get an inch of snow the place grinds to a halt - then I drive past them all in my Pulsar and laugh!
anyone can be fast in a straight line
I was till today. now its goin off the road. :(
i daily drive mine. 0 problems i dont know why you wouldn't. it's not like its a ferrari.
I would be driving mine if i could afford the insurance. I went to insure it yesterday and they want another 700 bucks for insurance and that was only till august. It would have brought my monthly Payments up to 220 a month. i cant do that right now. But i want to drive it so bad. lol. It will go on the road in the next month or so. But yeah it is and will be my daily driver again :)
like i told you before...they have insured mine as a nissan pulsar NX "foreign" RHD car...and i am only paying 89 bucks a month...that is basic insurance but still..the car is on the road.

i think u might find that when u go to reinsure they will change it to a pulsar gtir. or maybe not seeing as u have a bc vin and on mine they go by the chassis code. but i dont mind i will be back on the road soon enough.
why would it only be till august? if you're not buying full years, meaning daily or monthly, you get charged at a higher rate. plus your age, location, past history now all affect your rate. this includes any tickets or violations you've incurred.
and you should have a bc vin.. i don't know how you passed inspection without one. its a requirement.
anyways on the winter topic. half the fun is driving this car in the wet, snow, and ice.
the snow is even more fun with a good set of winter tires.
Well as far as only till august it's cause i swapped my insurance from my 323 to my pulsar. As far as the price going up it is more expensive to insure the pulsar than the 323. but on top of that rates in the fraser valley have gone up. it will cost me an additional 400 a year to insure the pulsar here. as far as the vin goes i got my car in september and instead of having a bc vin applied to the car icbc changed it so now all u have to do is use the chassis number. so my vin number starts RNN14OOO like so. where as yours and Rich (canock) have a actual blue tag plate attached to ur cars. It wont start with RNN14 ot will be a random number given to u by icbc. oh on the insurance thing. i havnt had any accidents or anything put on my liscence in a long time. it is just cause the rates went up here. they said there has been a major increase in drivers and also in accidents in the fraser valley so it wont just be me that's affected.
thats brutal..hopefully it doenst make its way up here to the valley

i doubt it will. not for a while anyway. with the growth that kelowna is having these days it is just a matter of time.
I'm winter driving mine. Royal Purple oil in the engine, and Redline Heavy Shock Proof in the gearbox, transfer case and rear diff.
The only negative part is the lack of a block heater, and you need to let the oil warm up before you can drive it, otherwise it's like molasses!
RNN14
i am drivin mine in -30 and if i just let it heat up it runs good!
I bought my GTiR specifically to be a winter car. Had it out to 45 below without a problem. Then unrelated to the cold she tossed a rocker arm. I've got a new engine one the way. Not wasting any time because my Acura sucks for driving in the winter.
I was told not to run mine with stock antifreeze, in japan its rated to about -15 usually, but i haven't changed it and when i started it in the -49 weather we had mid winter it was no problem. my car also came with winters and I had no problems with it until the roads got dry and I smoked my clutch
now its off the road just in time for spring=(
