Hi all,
well I now have 2 GTI-R! I've bought this one for dirt cheap on boxing day and it has got a few things done by the previous owner. It's a 1991 with a sunroof. Was bought with a broken front passenger driveshaft (all 6 bolts were missing, don't ask me why!), engine was a non starter (main ground was not bolted to the frame), broken windshield and a dented fender.
It has a few uprated parts like a Walbro 255, HKS SSQV, ACT 6 puck clutch with heavy duty pressure plate, Apexi intake filter, 5Zigen fireball catback, Momo steering wheel with quick release.
Pretty cool car when it runs, but unfortunately it seems like its having a hard time starting up!

I could get you one from Japan (5Zigen Border Max 304), but expect ±400$ total, for a used unit.

I'm going the Japan route, with the one I've bought 2 weeks ago. It will most likely ship by the end of this week or early next week as I have other items waiting to arrive before shipping to Canada.
As for the exhaust I could arrange something for you. There's one for sale on YAJ for 18000jpy http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c233431469
Add 300jpy for the transaction fees, 1800jpy for item fees, 2500jpy for japanese shipping, and ???$ for international shipping by Fedex.
So that's ±265$CAD, plus international shipping which could be about 150-200$CAD.

nah no projects for this one, i just want it to be reliable, although reliable and gti-r don't really go together. I've got my other R that I concentrate on ;)
Project-wise, this 2nd R will get a 3" downpipe, maybe a decat, and a boost controller. Nothing more! For the other though, the list goes on and on

shipping should be between 25000 and 30000, i will get the exact quote soon enough

Why didnt I tell what? I did mention in the windshield thread that I've ordered one from Japan. I'm playing lottery with a 450$ ticket here, and the grand prize is a windshield in one piece. If you want to give it a try I can order one for you, but there's no insurance on the glass as Fedex will not insure the glass itself.
I prefer that compared to my Nissan dealership who wants 800+$ with the same warranty.
when i got my windshield, it was 850 total tax duty shipping full insurance included, i thought that was a decent price shipped and insured etc.. to my front door

Haha, i work at fedex and i can understand why they won't insure the damn thing. Since you've got 2 cars now Frank you could spare the two back seatbelts am I right? lol btw, my favourite picture is the second one, its so sweet to see two pulsars in the same place.
