unless its 25 years old ur screwed. or find someone else who did it in the states and ask them how they did it. OR you could find an early imported one here cause they were registered as a pulsar nx in bc. then you wouldnt have any problems i dont think as long as it used a bc vin plate. not sure how that worked in alberta but its a place for you to start.

your boned

vehicle has to be 25yrs or older

and since its coming from canada they will really check it out...

the only way to get cars into the usa beforethey are 25yrs old is to dismantle them in japan send over the parts in seperate containers ie body in one engine in another tranny and interior in anoter... then reassemble in the usa and claim it as a kit car or home build but even then its not always doable

Have heard of several vehicles going over. Bottom line is you need to prove the vehicle will be offroad status. IE; used as a race car etc. How to go about proving this is another Q.

Wow, that mint, looks like a movie. Lol that gti-r's mirrors look messed though. Maybe you could buy them from nissan, but its not stock with the car like that. haha, that looks hilarious. Woah!! hold on, its hard to tell in the picture, but is the white gti-r left hand drive?! where did you get that thing?

a friend of mine in the states told me that americans used to be able to import the vehicles to mexico, register them, and then bring them up.
some had to be registered as other vehicles. this is just what i've been told. since then though, they can't do that anymore. best way is the kit car method.

I think I saw the 'old-style-prior-to-80's' required fender mounted mirror as an option on a gtir advertisement type .pdf somewhere with a pic of fender mirrors. .. couldn't find it right off .. might have been a japanese website.
Reason for the mirror's location there is so mirrors are " visible through the front windshield in the area cleared by the wipers so that they remain visible regardless."
Configuration is said to have fewer blind spots yet it is harder to see things because of longer distance, so the mirror might be a bit bigger to compensate. I'll bet some guys prefered to order whatever mirror they were accustomed to using.
