Stock Blow off/Recirculating Valve
Does anyone know if you remove the tube from the stock blow off valve from the turbo inlet side of the intake and let it vent to to the atmosphere, will it cause any issues.
Our SR20DET swap into the B15 transmission is causing an issue with clearance with the stock turbo intake tube not clearing the clutch slave cylinder.
We're using a trans form a 01 B15.

It shouldn't. It should just act as an atmospheric blow-off valve then right? The car will run rich for a little bit when you shift, but it shouldn't cause any trouble. I just installed my bov yesterday and it idles fine, and when i step on it, it seems fine. Haven't been able to test the blow-off though unless i rev the bejeebers out of it cuz the car is just sitting there with no clutch fluid in it. Everything i've heard though just makes the car run rich.
Are you running a stock turbo??? You shouldn't have any problems except for richness between shifts (a little backfiring here and there.) If you happen to be running a nice aftermarket ball bearing turbo, Sometimes they'll spin so freely at idle that they'll put just enough pressure into your vac system to hold the stock bov open. Basically compressor surge while idling. If you run the stock level of vacuum you shouldn't have any problems
Drive it like you stole it
Thanks Guys. We're running it completely stock to start. We'll try to fab up a new inlet in the intake tube until we can come up with a replacement solution.

sometimes the ECU cant keep up and you get a little rich stumble going to the next gear.. it's enough to slow you down but won't hurt anything.
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
