I will guess the reason was due to cost cutting and improved marque identity etc in times of extreme skyrocketing financial problems in a time where Nissan dropped behind Honda and Toyota from second place. By comparison, GM today might look good. fwiw: Nissan's Net Indebtedness excluding sales finance in the times were: year 1989: 1.2 trillion yen; '90 2.0 trillion; '91 2.4; '92 2.6; '93 2.8; '94 2.8; 95 2.3; 96 2.2 trillion yen. etc Net value of the company was going negative. Anyways, the 'P' for Prince Motor Co. was changed up too on the front.

There was a brief transitional 'Nissan/Prince' corporate logo available that's being reproduced today that is listed on ebay currently. Not likely on any stock gtir. I got GTIR on my car's steering wheel as is/already imported; but a JDM importer sourced for parts locally who had seen a few gtir thru his shop commented upon first seeing the car that most he had seen didn't have the gtir logo; i didn't ask at the time if it was later cars or just aftermarket steering wheels; anyone know where changeup occurred,yr or s/n??
i think he meant the whole steering wheel. if he did i have no clue what the whole wheel is worth, but i'm keeping mine. i like the look of this car with the stock wheel. If he did mean just the little emblem then ya it should be next to free.
i do mean for the whole steering wheel....... i just payed $250 ON EBAY for a GTiR EMBLEM STEERING WHEEL....... i think it will be a good addition to my project sentra cause im swaping a GTiR SR20DET into it.
i guess something like that is priced by whoever is selling it, not really a set price, i woulda thought it would be a little less than that but i guess anything from these cars are rare...

i think its rarer the other way. mine has the gti-r symbol, and the other 2 in my city that i have seen have gti-r too.

i wouldn't pay more than 10$ for a piece of plastic.. at that point i'd just get a nice aftermarket wheel.
