Power Windows Stopped Working

I would seriously  check the grounds,  grounds are often not as well insulated and are the first to corrode.

ALSO power / ground is often shared from one door to another so the driver can control both windows.. like a 3 wire or 5 wire setup... totally PITA

then I would check relays...

then I would consider a regulator...

I'd agree check the grounds first. I was lucky when mine was jammy and stuck open a short time after i first bought the car. One thing i found was by shutting down the engine and restarting and revving the engine a bit it fixed itself on occasion. go figure, must be the volts available or resistance in the circuit.

EDIT: just went out later , and it's snowing now in edm with ice on window etc and window acted up in first inch. To provoke it push a few times and jam. Restarting must be resetting something that turns it, switch on and off, it shuts down with too much resistance. [assumed line resistance and stress to motor]. Warmed up the car and all was correct. Had to pull the window up while pressing the switch to get past the 'stall point'.

Slamming my passenger side door a couple times must also have reestablished the ground, as zed suggests checking for sure,
By reefing up on the window when the switch was pushed to get it moving to close and repeating up/down several times at the top end with assistance made it work better afterwards.

When i had time later I dumped a bit of silicone stuff down the frame rails too as lube and put it up and down many times. After more use over time it got much better, but It's still slow low down and it gets worst in wetter weather so it's got 'ground' all over it in my car; all's well once it's past the first few inches now.
I take it easy in winter with opening if windows are frozen as that's when i figure it's more apt to break. A bit of dielectric grease if you actually have to open up the panels and do the re-connections might be good too.

There was a post not too long back on a door window motor r&r if that's the problem, but before that, i agree zed's suggestion on the grounds first. [Checking ground sure worked wonders in my engine bay earlier.]

Easy check, remove the door panel check for pwr/ground at the window motor- while using the switch.should be two wires going to the motor. Polarity is switched, that's how you get your up and down with only 2 wires. If you have all your signals that verifies the circuit is good and it's the window motor. If you do not have your signals you will have to trace back the circuit from there. Go online get the wiring diagram, you will need it. You can check common areas like where the wires pass through from the door to the body. Opening and closing the door puts stress on old wiring and breaks inside the rubber boot are sometimes common on older vehicles. Sometimes you can give the motor a tap with a hammer and it will start working again( maybe for a long time or maybe just enough to get it back up.) Don't beat on it, just a couple of taps. you might get lucky. With the panel off, now you can inspect the regulator and the run channels, make sure nothing is bent, binding or loose.

Also... For those of you who have window's that seem to struggle on the way up, lube the glass runs with Silicone spray(AND ONLY SILICONE SPRAY!) The old dried out rubber tends to create a lot of friction against the glass, and may cause binding. Mine were pretty slow when I got my car, one quick spray down each of the channels and they went up as fast as they came down. You may have to repeat once every month or two but it works mint providing the windows are fine otherwise.

hey there Serge. just wanted to update you on the gearbox. i am having troubles setting paypal up. so my friend is going to let me use hers. i will get the info for you in the next day or 2. i have been really busy with work this week. the company i work for shut down one of there locations so 2 of us had to pack the whole store up and move it just the 2 of us. i have moved the pulsar to my buddys house and have started pulling the gearbox out. i will update u with the info on the paypal info very soon. have a good day.

I never had a problem with the gearbox at all. it has been very good for me. it has been bolted to my sr22det in my pulsar and has taken the power with no issues. from the sounds of it you will be using it with the same engine i have been using it on. the gearset should be excellent for you. please let me know if this is fine with you. thanx

there is aprox about 10000 km on this gearbox. it does not grind it shifts smooth as butter. always had sinthetic redline gearoil with shockproof in it.

i do not have a pic of the gearbox. its still in the car actually. i havnt pulled the engine. its ready to come out i just havnt had the time. it is a full genuine quife gearbox with a nismo lsd. as for how much hp it can hold i dont really know. many people have run 500+ hp with no problem. i will be pulling the gearbox out in the next couple a weeks. family obligations come first. but i am workin on it.ill see if i can get out to the shop and get some pics.
