Hi guys, I hope this is not the case since I just bought the car in january ... yesterday after a half hour drive I get home and let the car cool down, so I popped the hood... the engine seems to be knocking and it gets louder when I get under the car ... I have looked at sr20det knocks on youtube and my car dosnt really sound like it ... yet. all was good before and it seems to happen only when the car is really warm ... I am using 5w40 grade oil atm ... I will post up a video on youtube tonight and give you guys the link ... I am so fucking scared !

dude, get some vids of it revving. And before you do that put the coupler back on the intercooler
i dont have couplers . . . what is it for
you have a silicone coupler that is a 90 degree bend and goes from your intake manifold to the intercooler. Put it back on.
Don't worry about the coupler. its on i had to watch it twice. it just looks like its not cause thats just the cover on the intercooler. but it almost sounds like an exhaust leak, but really i have no idea. Like if it only makes the noise once its warmed up it couldnt be that.. But like lynx said. get a vid with it reving a little bit.
well it does have a leak but I am more concerned about the the other clicking noise ... anyways I think the valves need shimming ...
That's definitely knocking and not valves just needing to be shimmed..they make more of a ticking sound. It sounds like a loose connecting rod or crank bearing to me. Have you had any issues with your headgasket, perhaps some coolant mixed with your oil?
No issues with the headgasket at all ... damn so I should be really worried ... god damn it I just got the car 4 months ago
Before you go ripping it apart, post it on gtiroc. Check your valve shim clearances first too

i dont have the car right now bringing it back to my place tomorrow its the first thing I will do ... what is it suppose to do when it revvs if the crank bearing is defeective ?
It will knock. YouTube "rod knock" they all sound similar.

in my opinion unless its a major knock, rod knock will get the loudest arond 3000rpm, so i'd slowly rev it up to around 5000 and see if it gets louder as you pass through a certain rpm, good luck!
