New to sight!
Hey, I am new to the site. I have been looking around for a car that I can drive around town and take to the track once in a while. I was looking for RWD or AWD cars. I decided to look at some RHD cars and came across the GTiR. Something about it caught my eye and I haven't been able to shake it. I have had an SiR civic and an AWD Talon TSi. I love the idea of a small AWD turbo car with a kicker motor.
I will be doing a lot of research on them in the next little while. Anyone with any info on a good sight to get a lot of info, it would be appreciated. Hope to see some of you around and hopefully I will be sitting in my own very soon.
Thanks
Blayne

will be quicker than your talon.. but personally i would just pick up a rhd s13... they have buckets of mods and cheap too
a gtir is fun as well, but i like rwd fun more. takes quite a bit of work to get rid of understeer on the gti-r
Thanks Nick. Faster than the Talon is good. I like the s13 but they are a bit more common than the Pulsar. Thats good to know tho that it has understeer problems since I want to take it to the track. What would I be looking at to get it under control?
understeer is so bad, but the power is good if you can do the work yourself but if you can't forget about it.Personally it's all wheeldrive or nothing got to use it all year round school is expensif so got to be able to drive the car all year round can't afford and don't have the time for two cars.So for me it's a good choice for now.
i'd do all of these
i have everything on this list, yet to install lsd tho
whiteline anti lift kit
whiteline adjustable rear sway bar
whiteline rear subframe align and lock kit
bumpsteer kit
move battery to rear
lose the air con
modena front lsd.. there's a group buy ending this month, see the classifieds
coilovers or some sort of suspension with decent springs
anything to stiffen up the frame, strut bars, etc
even then, she's a front heavy bitch and the front wheels get power first, so it'll always have power understeer
Well, I will have to take that into consideration. Thanks Nick!
OK I love these cars... I have the same suspension bits as Nick and a good set of coil overs. This car is the perfect Cruise Friday night race Saturday- Sunday fix Monday Tuesday car. If you could deal with a DSM you can deal with this thing. be warned parts are more difficult to find and can be expensive... but less likely to break :)
This car also has the potential to be a DD but maintenance is key and you could be waiting 6-8 weeks for parts from japan... and screwed for a ride to work :( lol thats why Im fortunate enough to have a second car.
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
Well, that was one of my other questions was availability of parts. I gather that they mostly all come from Japan with exception to some engine parts. Is there any local places that keep basic parts on hand....like oil filters and brakes and whatnot?
Nissan is pretty good with part's have not ad any problem's getting any parts
^^ agreed I have not had an issue getting parts.. If there not in Canada or the states it usally take a while...
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
source-able in north america
front suspension
front brakes
nearly all oem engine parts
rear calipers
has to be imported unless someone is carrying some on hand
master cylinder ( you can probably source rebuild kit in NA)
clutch master ( you can probably source rebuild kit in NA)
rear shocks
rear rotors no
all glass
aftermarket exhaust, downpipe
you can use this site to cross ref all oem parts http://nissan4u.com/parts/sunny/
Awesome. Thanks all. I will be looking at one next weekend to buy. After that, you will be sick of the questions I will have...LOL!
