My Half Day at Dirtfish Rally School
simply epic... an awesome experience
i advise everyone to go if you havent experienced rally driving before.
you get to do this in someone else's car with proper instruction.
i got to drive a group P spec 09 sti hatch. had tein suspension, full cage, rally wheels, brakes, dirt tires
i got to learn how to drive a slalom, skidpad, and a short course with different kinds of turns
was taught how to use left foot braking, trail braking, and control a slide with both.
i quickly learned how shitty a driver i was and got better as the day ended. looking far enough ahead is key key key.
my group p car had issues so my instructor Forest Duplessis (chief instructor, i didnt know at the time, pick him if u go)
exchanged our car for a group n 07 sti worth well over $100,000.
the group n had a straight cut dog box worth 18k, custom ecu for the active diffs, cage etc etc. it was a former rally car for team usa and was driven by tanner foust.
a simply awesome experience
at the end of the day the instructors take us round the course at full speed , i simply couldnt stop smiling as he was taking me speeds i wouldnt dare to enter a corner with specially knowing how hard you have to stamp on the un vacuum assisted brakes.
im now saving up for the 2 day rallycross or 3 day full training course.

Nice!! Would like to do the same one day and I'm sure it'll be a humbling experience as well.
I've been a long time rally fan and grew up around it so hearing about your experience just reminds me how sick the sport is.
Imagine your Production Sti was a group A evo 6 or a F2 renault clio, you've got a 15ft wide road, trees and spectators on both sides and you're going +200kmph,,,,it'll probably look something like this....

well not exactly like that haha.
i would suggest the 2 day or 3 day... i think you'd get a ton more for your dollar if you're going to be spending that much. the 1 day basically is an extension of the half day with more laps. you get to learn a lot more in the 2 day and 3 day according to the guys at df
Nice! I started that car when I was doing start control at SnoDrift 2009 FishLab road stage! totally awesome experience no doubt Nick Good Job!!
Mine isn't bigger than yours.. I just like to drive
