GTI-R Abroad in the USA.
Chronicling my road trip that I'm doing with my GTI-R. Figured it would be fun to travel the western United States. 1500 km in one day to Utah thus far, this was my first real stop. The nice thing I noticed in the states is that on the Interstate highways there are always gas stations readily available; the large ones seem to remind me of Maximum Overdrive. Most of the driving has been like prairie driving.....boring.
Every journey has its beginning, somewhere in there you can see the word 'Kelowna'. And I'm off at 5:30 AM
Passed the Montana border welcome sign so I took a picture of the mountains, caught a sign that said 'Montana' on it too, so it's close enough.
Back into Idaho at 10PM to refuel in Idaho Falls.
And finally Utah and called it a night in Ogden just before 2AM Pacific time, 3AM Mountain time.

looks fun, i havent' done a road trip in my gti-r... don't know if i could, i'd be deaf and sore all over. i have done in my early 20's vancouver to toronto in 39hrs and 42hrs. down to seattle, across the interstate to detroit/windsor. then back on the transcanada, that sucked. i've also gone across canada to winnipeg and then down through the states under the lakes. BC is good, and northern ontario is good. everything else was pretty boring.
Yeah I hear ya, lot of road noise and feedback; does get to be a little much.
Kingman AZ now, went to the Grand Canyon Village, but it was night time and got bored so I left. The town had no vacancy at the hotels anyways. Stopped in Kingman AZ overnight. Las Vegas, round 3 now.
Salt Lake City from the bridge I came in on.
Those windmills that you always see on movies, this was just after Provo UT.
Looks like alot of fun! Post more pictures!!

Yeah Finished now, but I only did 8 States in 7 days.
This is just outside of Provo heading towards Moab, a large mountain biking community.
When it rains, it pours. Great storm just before Moab. Rain so heavy it would cover the highway making hydroplaning easy. It was also like dense fog that you could't see 2 meters in front of you. BC Coquihalla highway drivers would know this just after/before Hope, depending on direction. Lighting would strike 100-150 meters off beside you. After the rain stopped, the lightning would light up mountain sides as if it were daylight.
tech44 US border gaurds didnt but your chops coming over?
Not in the least. Small border crossing near Grand Forks, British Columbia.
Drove through Grand Canyon parkway at night in AZ. Came through Kayenta and went west after Cameron AZ. Got to the village and no place had vacancy so I went south to Williams and stopped at a Circle K. Haven't seen one of these in a long time. Last time I saw one before this was probably on Bill and Ted. If George Carlin showed up in a phone booth I would've done some time traveling.
Right near the Hoover dam I guess is where the border is to Nevada. Stopped for a bit, but back on the road in no time.
More Ferraris and Lamborghinis have been down the strip than GTI-Rs I bet. Welcome to Las Vegas Nevada, Pulsar.
Someone screwed up really bad on Tropicana Ave.
GTI-R's Fremont Experience, or Fremont's GTI-R experience? You decide.
haha! Good stuff!
I've been up to Hope, that place is pretty, wet but pretty...
I just saw a Circle K on Thursday! I looked at my buddy and said, "holy crap! It's a Circle K!!!" haha, not many around thats for sure!
