3inches exhaust

Hi!

I want to know if there is a problem to put a 3inches exhaust on a stock set-up?
And I want to know where I can buy a Turbo Outlet for a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R in 3inches?

Thank you!

no problem with that at all. I'm running a full 3 inch elbow and downpipe that i made myself. Turbo spools faster and is much louder now.

Thank you, in about 3 weeks it will be done in 3inches all the way with a High Flow Cat and a Dynomax VT muffler! Hope I get my parts as soon as possible to make it as fast as possible!

you have to remove the ac to get the 3 inch to fit, other than that there is are no issues

Whats the reason? Only that it will not pass after the Turbo outlet?

lynx, do you have some info on your 3" exhaust? ie what it cost, where you got it done (or did you do it yourself?), what steel you used, and of course, any pictures?

Many thanks!

bought all parts from exhaust direct in London Ontario, except for t28 outlet flange which I bought from Weirtech. I welded the whole thing myself and It cost me about 250 bucks for a full 3" turbo to catback including a 3" hi flow cat and all gaskets and flanges.

I'll be selling it soon, along with my Kakimoto racing cat back, and making a fully custom 3" turbo to tailpipe exhaust with minimal restriction.

Lynx I have a very similar 3 inch turbo back downpipe mated to my kakimotto catback. I'll snap some pics...

Let me know how the VT sounds. I've got mine waiting on the shelf in my workshop. It's been there for over a year and I haven't had time to get it installed.

A great fab shop in Winnipeg, Jackson Autosport, made up this 3" elbow->downpipe for me, then welded it to a Tanabe cat-back (the metric size just under 3"). Awesome fabrication, great clearance around everything, doesn't hang too low, sounds great and much noticeably faster spool-up. I'll try and take a pic of it on the car and post it. Such a proud papa!ImgGTIRpipe.jpg
Edit: Oh yeah, and Jackson didn't remove my A/C to fit it. It was 34C (45C with humidex) here yesterday, I was appreciating the nice cool air with the windows up!

Wow that's a great looking piece! I think Webber was referring to running a 3" turbo elbow / 02 housing / j pipe. I don't think you could get one to fit with the ac still there.

I'd just like something cleared up if possible. Can AC still fit with:
A) 3" turbo back, B) GT2860R and C) FMIC?
Today's temperature makes me realise how much a priority AC is in a daily.

ok so basically if you look how tight the stock o2 housing (turbo elbow) and down pipe are to the AC compressor and alternator than you will see the problem. the only real solution i can see is using a divorced setup with a 2" turbo outlet and a 1' waste-gate outlet with some creative plumbing... as far as the FMIC see the to FMIC or not to FMIC thread lol

I went to a rally shop near my location and they will do all my exhaust in 3inches all the way with Dynomax VT muffler and Magnaflow Cat. They said me that I need to pull off my A/C because the turbo outlet is to near of the A/C pump and the elbow will be to restritive if we don't took it off.
In about 2 week and a half I will bring my car to them!!!!

Hope it will be as clean as this one :)

My exhaust is done!!!! It makes a real difference, the turbo is more agressive, better acceleration, just some +++ with it! But I need to change my exauhst holder because the stock one are too weak. I'll take some picture in the futur weeks!!!

I just started fab on a cat back last night.  3" 304SS, going to run a Dynomax Ultraflow, 3" in 3.5" out.  Going to make outlets one day...

Mine is fantastic, we don't hear the valve inside it, (just when you have little back fire), quiet at low rev and just agrisive enough when you want some power. I like this muffler!
