cool well thats a ood place to start and i have only heard bad thing from tiger auto. so be carefull cuz fixing an r can get pricy and hard to find parts. i would say check out here in bc might be easier to find.

definately not going to buy a Junk-R LOL....looking for CLEAN - LOW km car :)...as you say, gets expensive to fix for sure.

go to tyeeimports.com and give them a call i think they can point you in the right direction if not get one for you thats my best bet but if your in a big rush you can buy mine 8g and ill drive it from bc to your door it will have 150k on it then but i know it is a solid car :D

ah yes ....thanks for that link GTI-RRRR, I think I will go take a look but from the pictures it does not look in that good of shape... but pics are always deceiving , best to go see in person :) thanks for the heads up. HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY GONE TO SEE THE ONE AT TIGER JAPANESE (asking $6,000 and has 60,000 kms)...I live so far from it but was thinking of going to see it today.

dont think anyone on here will buy from tiger jap, theres always a reason why their cars are cheap and low miles- because theyre usually fooked in some sort of way

just look through any car forum based in ontario and you will see and read about the horror stories about tiger jap- remember when it comes to a gtir you can cheap out or you will get bit on the ass

Well....on tiger japan web page ...it shows 3 gti-r's, one of wich has been sold. The other 2 I need to go look at and I will post on the forums what they look like in general terms of body, interior , engine bay, undercarriage etc. Much like the ppl on this forum, I have had some warnings from others also to beware of tiger, that being said, I will take extra precautions when checking out there vehicles. I will have to bring (pay) a mechanic to come with me if I like what I see after the first visit.

i agree i thought i remembered seeing that car too take some one who knows cars with you and listen to it idle watch for knocks and such good luck!!!
