front grill and drivers side window control unit
does anyone have these two parts? i hate the fact my car doesnt have a front grill....its incomplete! and i hate reaching over to the passenger side to put the window down! and also wut is that button thing next to the window lock button suppose to do? mine doesnt work either!

The button beside the window lock should be driver's window auto up / down switch. There were at least 2 versions of this switch module. Mine is an early one, with a green LED which goes on with the headlights. It's the only light in the panel. Later versions (I think starting in '93) lost the LED and got "AUTO" printed on the switch.
I've had my car over 3 years now and the passenger window never worked from the driver's side - only from the passenger's side. GTIROC, etc, say you have to replace the driver's door switch because early ones (the ones with the LED) burn something out internally. However, I installed a grounding kit a couple of weeks ago and magically mine started working. I contacted the seller of the kit and he said that he had never heard of that happening before, but I'm not complaining...

One other point, as a word of caution.
If your GTI-R has the express up/down function working on the driver's door, be aware that there isn't any reversing function. More recent cars with express up have a feature that if the glass runs into something, the glass will stop and back up a little.
As a co-worker of mine found out (on his own - I tried to warn him that I didn't know), the GTI-R's glass will continue to push into whatever gets in it's way. At least that's true for the ones with the green LED. I'm not sure about the later version.

So, I offered the window switch to Chrissy for $50, and she thought that was to much. If anyone else wants it, I thought $50 was fair.
