Chain tensioners
If anyone wants the new improved shain tensioner for their sr20det motor i can get them really cheap..they are the real thing and it is as easy as plug and play...take the old one out and plug the new on in its hole. They are for sale on ebay for 75USD plus shipping and i canget them for 25 bucks canadian plus shipping to wherever you are. This is based on availability so ill look when people let me know how interested they are. I gont one in mine and it made the engine much more quiet. They are reccomended cos they have a larger oil chamber so they can apply more tension to the chain..it was an actual upgrade that nissan reccomended in 1995 and actually changed the tensioner on the cars in 1994.

I got one off Rich and it has done the trick so far! Definitely helped quiet down the chain.

what is that chain tensioner??? sorry just got my gtir today 26 march awesome car damn. but got a lot to do in it and i dont know shit about them...i would need new brakes...!!!!

the chain tensioner is a part that puts pressure on the timing chain to make sure that you dont skip a tooth when you are pinning. the original ones that came on the cars didnt have enough extension or a large enough oil resevoir to cope with the stretch of the sr20det motor. there was an upgrade in 1995 so unfortunatly the gtir's all have the old tensioner. it is a cheap upgrade to make you engine quiet and cheap insurance to make sure that you chain doesnt jump off and skip a tooth and fry your engine.

Ok guys...i got the numbers..lol..shipping to ontario is basically 15 bucks...shipping to edmonton is 12 bucks so basically depending on where you live in canada...you can guess about 15 bucks shipping and handling.

i finally got around to instal mine tonight, it was a bitch since mine can with the clip unhook and I tried to insert it for a while before I figured I needed to pre load it and put the clip on for the instal... I am right? right? i am quite sure it works fine since the engine did got smoother when I let it warmed up after. Its in such place that its really hard to do with socket and I ended up using a short 10 mm key 1/8 of a turn at a time... pita.
