GB: GTi-R Door Hinges..

I'll take a set

i replaced mine years back, to make life easy, remove the fender.  it can be done without, don't ask how i know, and the door is heavier than it looks

so it is 4 x $34.10 = $136.40 + $39.50 for shipping? Grand total $175.90?

Do they come painted or not?

^^ Your right.  I was just about to come on here and clarify that.  I don't know for sure if they are painted black, I'll see if I can get an answer on that for you.

If you can get them in stock painted KJ7 (ivory white) then I'll take a set yesterday.

I just discovered that both upper hinges are the same as b13 NX hinges. However, the lower ones are different. They could be modded to fit quite easily but they are different none the less.

The lower ones of course are the ones that wear out.

The NX uses 4 hinges, but there are only 2 different part numbers. That is because on the NX the right lower and left upper are identical and vice versa.

The GTIR has different hinges for the top and bottom and this 4 different part numbers.

I just finished cutting a door hinge apart to find out if one could frankenstien an upper and lower nx hinge together to make a lower GTIR hinge (it would be identical) but the pins are pressed, or welded, or stamped in, (I'm not sure which) And it wouldn't be possible to put it back together unless aftermarket pins were used.

Sure, you can get just the lower ones if thats all you need.  Prices will not be affected, shipping may be a little less.  Unfortunately, my laptop caught a virus, so I won't get invoices out till Tuesday.  I still need email address's from linx and ZED.  Sorry about the delay.

Please confirm if your in for 2 or 4 hinges by Monday and I'll process the orders as soon as I can.

I'm still in for atleast one set of bottom hinges.

Anyone know if two bottom hinges (GTI-R specific) can be used to replace two driver side lower hinges? In other words, are the bottom hinges, left and right, identical?

ALL hinges on the GTIR are unique hence 4 part numbers.

My supplier in Japan is showing RH Upper Door Hinge X 6, LH Upper Door Hinge X 4.

The lowers are still on order.  I'm going to have the upper shipped, and the lowers will ship once in stock.

Sorry It's taking these so long to arrive, I can only assume there was an issue with stock in Japan.  I received confirmation today that they have officially left Japan.  Hope none of you are too upset, I hoped it'd had been faster too!

dude it's cool we understand. Shipping from japan is normally a nightmare, and especially in the wake of the superquake.

shipping from japan is actually quite good even in current times, the earthquake has only affected a portion of the country.  i received a part i needed from japan within 4 days last week... its more to do with stock, they likely had to bring in little hinges from all over the country slowing it all down

Im not upset I just noticed no one else was chiming in and feared Iw as the only one who didn't get theirs... no worries,, thanks for the update.

I have good news, and bad news.  

Good news: The last of the hinges are showing stock and will be shipped tomorrow. 

Bad news: The first batch arrived in Canada on the 22nd, but have been held for some reason, most likely due to work stoppage by Canada post workers.  I am trying to get an ETA for release.
