**G/B fmic piping kit**
OK so I'm getting a GTI-R FMIC piping kit :
http://cgi.ebay.ca/INTERCOOLER-ALUMINUM-PIPING-KIT-NISSAN-N14-PULSAR-GTiR_W0QQitemZ230440931155QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Tru... looking for potential buyers. Waiting on a price for a group-buy.

I'm in.
that's 2.
when you planning for a deadline?
Possibly in just looking around a bit first, don't know if it's better to just buy the full ebay kit with intercooler or just buy piping then buy an intercooler after cause that'd save on shipping.

well, I had a wicked deal on a FMIC, so it was cheaper for me to just get the piping from ebay. intercooler are easier found than pipig kits, for GTI-R though...
when you planning for a deadline?
as soon as i get a quote, Ill fix a deadline. But it will be about a month.
I had an ebay kit a few months back and just sold it off... it was so cheap; the welds are shit and the flow very disrupted. I have yet to see a decent piping kit on ebay. my 2c
I see 2 welds in this kit. Both of them are at the turbo. The rest is mandrel bent piping. Piping is piping, ebay or elsewhere unless you are running a ridiculous amount of boost and need steel charge piping. This kit also leaves you free to buy a quality intercooler.
I would like to see pictures of this installed. Where do the pipes route? Do you have to remove any stock equipment??
there is a way to improve the stock intercooler for 20$ :)
?annnndddd....
it's so simple its funny, all it takes is a visit to the hardware store or home depot

http://www.canadagtir.com/forums/canada-gtir/members-cars/fmic-install Thats mine, it is this piping kit, and i agree, pipes are pipes. Notice where the pipes end up for this one, you can't use it with the huge intercoolers.

you can figure the rest out yourself.

I do not see the point here. If anyone has some other McGyver ideas like this one, please, make your own thread. Back to group buy please, any other interested ?
ok 5 post man. works for me, i guarantee my car is more reliable and makes more power than yours.
only offering help to save your 3-400$ on an fmic kit where the money can be better spent elsewhere.
i buy these same kits here in the US for the GTIR,full pipes and intercooler for under 200USD.they fit great and never had 1 issue with the JDM sport kits
Frank south, is this the same piping kit? Maybe we had the inlet and outlet pipes flipped the opposite way, so that it works with a massive or smaller sized cooler.
it is the same piping kit!! i have a FMIC kit here at my house that i havent installed yet,ill take pic of all the piping parts
sorry cam phone
This is an 'autobahn88' version of what appears the same configuration installed last year [nb. with a section _cut_ for additional aftermarket blow off valve]

Cost me then $425cdn for the fmic kit to the door complete with customs broker fees etc shipping from HK, China. Intercooler was the 600x300x76mm fin and tube type and install was done by mechanics.
Only modification to the kit's piping [additional to the cut for the bov] was the extra rt side support bracket from the body for the pipe from the turbo added by installer. pic avail. The turbo outlet tube in my kit does just contact the exhaust heat shield at one small point with no apparent problem. The light tubing seems to bear up well enough and no probs thus far.
edit: the air conditioning tube [silver rt center] running over the intercooler outlet tube required a slit/coiled hose length to protect from minor chaffing [not shown].

thanks, but you won't make me save a dime here buddy. I already had a FMIC, but did not have the pipig to install it on a pulsar.
Now, sorry if you felt aimed in my last reply, but I am not the kind of guy who will fix or tune his car with duct-tape. However, I do would like to know the whole story about this modifications of yours. It could, indeed, help others save some cash.
perhaps save someone else money yeah, but after your crack i dont feel like sharing anymore. i've done enough sharing on this forum to help others out.
just kuz something isn't sold on ebay and takes some home made sweat doesn't make it duct tape nor is it not 'tuning' if you call putting aluminum pipes that were made in china together for an fmic tuning, then watever
good luck on the group buy and the fmic tuning
maybe off topic but 91GTiRgrey what kind of bov is that? Oh wait... that was completely off topic. :/ But still, what kind??
... would be a 'greddy type rz' mounted under the intercooler output pipe currently.
It's ok now, but later on I plan to switch the top pipe to the plenum around [lots of room to play without battery] and route the blow off back into the plenum for stealth. the bov is a bit noisy.

omg, I realy did hurt your feelings.
I have nothing against "crafting" parts. Don't get me wrong, but for what the kit does and the price it is... c'mon, a dinner for two at the restaurent combined with a movie at the theater is more expensive.
Really interceptor just leave it alone. Who cares, he's saying a fmic isn't gunna do anymore good than his 20 dollar "tune", cuz its true. 91gtirgrey, how is that bov piped in like that? Cuz the stock dump valve is just coming off right behind the maf, not the cooler outlet. Is the vacuum line still just hooked up to the stock port behind the intake manifold? And What did you do with the two hoses that led to the stock dump valve? just block them off?
did you get a update on the price?
i get my FMIC kits from these guys http://www.advancedjdmparts.com/home.php?cat=336 i have an acct with them so i get them for under 200$ USD
i knoticed a big difference when i threw the FMIC kit even on stock boost

Yes, there was a plug installed to block off the stock hoses. The vacuum line is currently in the stock location but needs more vacuum signal i feel so it will get the 4>1 tubing TurboSmart/Mighty Car Mod for BOV vac line. pics avail.
btw MCM have a great install on the fmic kit for the gtir featured in an episode.
The fmic kit's intercooler outlet to the intake plenum tube had a hands'span sized chunk cut out and a "T" fitting bov adaptor was inline, the bov flanged at the base of the 'T'. Likely a universal type fitting all fabbed and chromed. The stem of the 'T' is a bit offset from center of the flange to give more fitting possibilities i guess for BOV but space is not an issue anyway with battery moved.
The pipe will be flipped, bov rotated rotated 180 and it will be located by the intake plenum closer to the throttles.

Interceptor wanted no part of this forum anymore! haha.
ok so I bought the ebay special kit about a year ago and was kinda disapointed...first thing that was wrong was the turbo flange was welded on at a severe angle...then the fact that its almost paper thin,(about the thickness of the top of a pepsi can) and practically all the welds were blown through, kinda scary for anything over 12psi if you ask me. I ended up just cutting the flange off, using the piping/flange to make a jig to make some good quaity piping. i think it would work ok if installed on a stock set up but just a lil nirve racking when your up in the high rpm range. hope that helped
is anyone using Celm's kit ? http://www.advancedjdmparts.com/home.php?cat=336 I am planning on buying a FMIC in the next weeks ... I would like an input if anyone has it installed. I have tried contacting Celm but he is not replying ...
