Saskatchewan!
Starting the Prairie Representation. I'm here, a friend of mine is here, another one is currently being re-built but we don't speak of it as the owner is sort of a wombat, and there is 1 or 2 more that are sometimes online and not. Hope to see alot more members soon!

I've got a black one in Saskatoon. Parked now because of a stupid stop check.
what did it get stopped for? And are you the owner just a couple blocks south of 8th street? If you are, good to meet you online!

Hey everyone from stoon! I finally picked up a Gti-r last month and am hoping to have it on the road soon. Does anyone know where I could pick up some DOT headlights and/or tailights?
Hope to hear from yah soon
-Ryan
canadianR: Yeah I used to live a few blocks off 8th. I moved to Confederation Park not long ago though. I got stopped for my windshield, headlights and side markers. I got lucky and the cop who checked my car once i brought it to the station didn't even look at anything, he just signed off.
ryanking: you can use Mazda 323 headlights, I did. But I'm putting the stock ones back in now that it's been passed.

your OE tail lights are fine (e-codes)
woah ryanking, nice car. I like the super white ones. mazda 323 lights will work, even plymouth sundance lights work. as long as they are dot.
I'm not sure what the status of E codes compared to DOT approved in saskatchewan are though.

Thanks for the advice guys! hahah I actually just got my Gtir safetied today and they didn't even look at my headlights...Thats the good news, the bad news is I need a new front bumper in order to pass the safety. Anyone out there in Stoon willing to lend me their front bumper for a day? Colour doesn't matter, I just need to put on the front bumper, show it to them so they can check it off the list, then I would go back to my origonal bumper.
Any takers? There would be some cash in it if anyone is interested!
Thanks again!
mine is off the car at the moment. It may need a few clips. It's not all cut out like yours is, it has one or two of the bars still. Other than that, all of the vertical slats are cut out. It's white too.

The problem is that the mechanic shops won't look at them but the police will if you ever get caught in a safety check, just a heads up. You got it safetied on 22nd right?
Yeah I got it safetied on 22nd. I'm not worried about the headlights right now I'm just concerned about the front bumper I've been looking around and I can't find one ANYWHERE. Like I said... If anyone is willing to lend me their front bumper for one day and one day only I'm willing to pay. I just need to show up with a front bumper that is intact and they'll check it off.
thanks!
does it need to be a completely stock bumper, nothing cut out?
if not, I have one that you can use. yours looks like its missing alot of the front stuff, mine is only missing the vertical slats. It looks like this:
but without the vertical bits. other than that, it has some plastic trimmed off the back side to fit the pipes. Let me know if you need it or not. You can use it for the day and then return it. Free of charge.

Yeah that looks great! Can I get your name and number so we can set something up? I probably won't need it for a couple of weeks but I would like to take a quick look at it to ensure that it will pass inspection.

E-Code is allowed by order of Transportation Canada. If someone in Sask tells you to get DOT insead of E-Code, they are incorrect. There is a letter floating around from Transport Canada, I will see if I can find it.
A really good site if none of you have heard of it is www.15years.ca
Lots of good info on legalization and what is currently happening with the Government and RHD cars.
ryan my brother sent me a message that you had contacted him about the bumper. any luck on it working for your safety inspection?

Just wondering if anyone out there in Stoon is driving their Gtir over the winter? I've been out since october and I haven't seen any more of these little bastards ripping around town. If there's anyone out there wanting to hit up the ice track send me a message.
Why does it matter if ur bumper COVER is cut up. Its not a safety thing ? makes no sense to me. I guess ill see when my car gets to Estevan and they try that shit with me. i dont mess around i know the rules. its a cover not a bumper. makes no differance if its cut up. There is no law that i am aware of that states it has to be original. i thibk there just fuckin with u. Ill be up there this summer so i guess well see lol.
Ryan, I'm driving mine around in winter now that it's repainted from the shop. I sent you a PM about the block/oil heater with my mobile # in it.
Ice track sounds good, especially with the new fresh snow from last night!
RNN14
Yeah it was the bumper and the cover that needed to be redone. I was missing a huge chunk of rebar because of my excessive FMIC. But w/e my old bumper cover was hacked up pretty badly so I just bought a new one through nissan ($256.00 shipped!)... Oh p.s. - I just found out the ice track is closed this winter. Damn.
representing the prairies here to, from Regina.. trying to get my hands on a gti-r. thats damn cheap for the bumper right from the dealer.. thats rare, good luck!
the track is still open as of last week. We went there around 10 pm one night, and a few of my brothers friends go there regularly as well.
RNN14
WWwwhhhaaatttt!?!? where is it this year? I even went on the website and they said it was closed wtf.
Just west of Faithful avenue, the saskatoon water ski club "rat hole" as its known. It may have said it's closed for winter, but people still go on it. The few times I've gone, I haven't had any trouble. Granted, that was at around 9-10 pm each night.
EDIT:
I guess that the old rat hole is the "small" track. There is a larger one that the ice race club uses for the motorcycle/dirtbike with huge studs/spikes on the wheels. It is east of the city about 2 km. directions: east out on 8th street, past the first left turn where the RV centre is, past the city of saskatoon nicolson yard, take the next left at the intersection. (if you turn left and go straight north, you'll find the fas gas on HW #5.
The ice track is on some farmer's slough that has agreed to let the ice track be on their property so I'm told.
I'll give you a ring one night when we plan to go out there. I went there at 11 tonight so thought it was too late to ring.

Hello Sask! It has been a hell of a long time since I've been on this forum but I thought I'd let everyone know that my gtir is in the process of being built back up again :) My last engine suffered a severe case of 'melted #2 piston' and in the same week that happened I found an engine that is one for the record books, literally. I feel like a douchebag for doing this but I bought an engine and other components off of Mike Adkins "The Bear" in the UK. For those of you who follow the gtir modifiers club forum you know that this shit is the real deal...Here are some specs of my build: 2.2L (bored not stroked) that made 620WHP last time is was on a dyno... please don't ask me for internal specs. 1st-4th PPG straight cut dog box with a quaife helical cut 5th gear, gt 30/40 dual ball bearing turbo, custom made O2 manifold (only 2 ever made), 1000CC injectors, dual walbro 255LPH fuel pumps, 4' core intercooler, protech equal length exhaust manifold made out of inconel, tripple plate ceramic clutch (only one in the world), Motec M48 pro ECU with custom made wiring harness... and much, much more... I figure I'll have the car on the road by the end of summer but it won't be making its full potential for a few years. By full potential I mean this thing is meant to break 2 records for the gtir... 1/4 mile time and top speed. The quaife 5th gear allows this car to hit 205mph at 8000rpm on standard tires. This should be fun :)
Spotted in Stoon! I saw a white pulsar cruising 8th on the weekend I've never seen before. Any clue who owns this mystery pulsar?
white with a fmic and black wheels?
RNN14
I'm not sure if it had a fmic but yeah it had black wheels.
that was mine then. :)
RNN14
Oh haha it didn't look like you driving... How's your R running these days?
I happen to be in Saskatoon for the day. Unfortunately I don't have my R with me. She still has a busted side window. Brought my supra instead. I'll be back again in 3 weeks as well.
