Hello, I need som advice, I am going to rebuild my SR20DET in my car GTiR. The engine is pretty stock, I have lifted the head and I am going to improve it to begin with. I am replacing it all, new cams, new gears, new chain, new valves, retainers, valve springs and etc. Any tips & advice would be great on which parts/suppliers I should use!
I want to build a 400bhp engine.
I thought that I will use ferrea as my supplier for the valvetrain parts.
looking at your last post, dont you already have a set of tomei cams, and a haltech? upgrade that stock turbo
I dont got any tomei cams? Yes I have a Haltech PS1000.
My TB28 is getting rebuild, changing to 360 bearing, and the guy who is rebuilding it is going to lathe the turbo.
you won't get near 400 bhp on the stock t28 turbo. you should get at least a gt2871r, faster spool and way better internal design than a turbo built 25 years ago.
Also if you want something reliable you should also build the block.
Yes I know, but for now I am rebuilding the head! I am later going to order Forged rods and pistons. But I will be needing canada gtir:s help :) , tips & tricks.

new OEM oilpump.
Supertech Dual valve spring kit with Ti retainers.
Supertech valve guides
Supertech Forged Exhaust & Intake valves +1mm oversized
Supertech Valve steam seals
ARP bolts & nuts.
The head will be refurbished and improved by a rally engine builder in sweden.
I am looking for new cams, gears and chain. I am unsure on which cams I should run and how much lift, I want the car to pass the emission inspection, gears I am thinking of HKS. New naprec strenghened chain maybe?
BLOCK build, Forged Carillo Pistons and Pauters X-beam conrods.
Turbo Garrett GT3071R or GTX3071R (dual ballbearing)

m4r1n : Yeah I thought I only run quality made parts for my build, planning a really sick buildup. Going to replace even more parts that I have not even mentioned.
What do you plan to do about the transmission ? Everyone here know they like to explode on hard launch and running lot of hp on the stock gearstack is searching for troubles.

Nissan Sunny / Pulsar GtiR 5-Speed Synchromesh Gearkit. The problem is not the housing of the gearbox, the gearbox housing breaks because the gears are mitered and want to break free from each other because of the excessive power. I will use my car for timeattack so I dont need to do kamikaze launches like they do on dragraces.

Picked up my package last week! I will be ordering 270 cams from tomei or kelford.
