adjusting cam/crank timing.

Hi guys,

Got my head back from the workshop I need som info that could speed up the rebuild process.

My SPECS :

HEAD and BLOCK refursbished.

Cometic 1,3mm headgasket.

Carillo Pistons 9.0.1 Compression

Pauter Rods 19mm

Tomei Procams IN/EX 270 12,50 mm lift. (With TOMEi adjustable gears).

Valvetrain all components / Supertech valves : IN/EX valve +0.1mm oversize.

    Part Number: SPR-H1005D/GTIR
    Type: Dual Spring
    Press.Seat: 75 @ 38.5
    Press.Open: 190 @ 10
    Max Lift: 17mm
    Coil Bind: 21.50mm
    Rate: 11.50mm
    Retainer: RET-NSR20/T1 + OE seat
    OutSpr.OD: 29.65mm
    OutSpr.ID: 21.85mm
    InnSpr.OD: 20.50mm
    InnSpr.ID: 15.50mm

It seems like with the  default timing the IN/valve is open 4mm on cylinder 1 according to my contact u fixed the head, I need to know whether I can use the default timing or not. I have been busy as hell at work so I had zero time for the GTiR, I contacted TOMEi and they told me this :

Although we do not have CAM SPEC CARDS available for SR20 camshafts, if you are concerned with the piston top hitting/making contact with the valves, this isn't an issue with the default valve timing (INT: Lobe Center 110 degs / EXH: Lobe Center 115 degs).

With this setup, you can also adjust the valve timing on the INTAKE side by up to +/- 3 measurements using TOMEI Adjustable Cam Gear(s).

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,
