Front and Rear Camber Bolt Size Requirements

I've been emailing with Don @ PDM-Racing.com regarding getting camber bolts for the pulsar.

I'm about to order a set for the front and a set for the rear but I'm having a hard time finding what the size requirement is for the rear of the car.

I think the front is 12mm, but can someone please confirm?

As for the rear, I have no idea - does anyone have any suggestions where I can look?

Thanks!!!

John

For the record:

Cost for a pair of camber bolts from PDM is $37 + GST + $14 shipping (to Ontario)

"HOW TO" Install aftermarket Fuel Pump

Preparation

Run your tank low enough to get you to the nearest fuel station, it makes the job a lot cleaner and safer for your hands, they are going to be submersed in petrol for a time.

You will need:

A 10mm socket.
Crimping tool for the two wires, or similar.
Some tie wraps to secure the fuel pump, plus other “space” filling material.
I used a large piece of rubber hose, as will be seen later, but there maybe other more elegant ways of doing this, depends on what’s available and how much time you want to spend making it elegant never having to see it again!!

Winter Oil/coolant heaters

That time of year again, and I'm looking for options or opinions on different heaters to make it easier on the engine to start the car in the sub zero temperatures in Canada.

So far, I've found a few options as follows:

magnetic oil pan heaters. Supposedly a magnet heater that you stick on at night and remove before driving away.

Stick on pan heaters: stick them on once and then just plug in. Only downfall I can see is scraping them off on snow/ice but the front bash plate should take care of that.

What size rims??

Hello GTIR owners,

I'm about to pick up my 93 R (before the end of the week *fingers crossed*). I bought it from Grant at tyeeimports.com - stock #0703-06 if anyone wants to check it out. Anyway, it's got the stock 14" rims on it right now, so I'm looking to upsize... not just for looks, I eventually want to put a big brake kit (like Nick's) on it.

AEM FI/C controller install

With some help from the board, tech support and a few other places I found on the net I was able to get an AEM FI/C controller (p/n 30-1910) working problem free on the Pulsar. Here is the twist though, I was able to find both the cam and crank circuit coming from the CAS. I figured i would post my connections to "give back" to the board and for the next poor bugger that is going to be doing this.

Anyway the connections

MAF connection is pin 30 and is orange

Injectors
1, 101 white black
2, 110 yellow black
3, 103 green black
4, 112 light blue black

O2 = 19 white

The bar comes in grey and doesn't come with those adjustable end links. But it does come with the yellow poly bushing.

Install time is about 30 minutes if you go slow.

Note this can be done on the ground on your back, although not comfortably.

1. Disconnect end links.
2. Unbolt the factory sway bar, 4 bolts.
3. Remove sway bar and bushing and bracket.

C/S pulley replacement

ok so i was rallying in -34 and i cracked my c/s pulley and no one gave me any info on how to fix it on sr20fourms. so i thought i would post it hear in case any one has any difficulties.
your going to need a 1 and1/16 socket and a really big wrench a socket set and a hammer

The main pulley is located just on the other side of the drivers side wheel so take it off. there is a small plastic guard over the engine area with 5 philips screws(on is under the car). once that is off i guess you should loosen the tensioners.

Best Oil For The Pulsar GTiR

The manufacturers stock recommendation based on regular service intervals and "normal" driving is as follows:

API SG/SH
Temp Range -20 degC to 0+

10w-40 Semi or Fully Synthetic
10w-50 Fully Synthetic
15w-50 Fully Synthetic
10w-60 No recommendation

There are always options to consider with regards to "special requirements" if you have modded or re-mapped your car or are using it for trackdays and spirited driving.

So...........

Specs have moved on now and most oils sold today are API SJ/SL which is not a problem, in fact the API tests are more rigorous nowadays.

Pulsar GTiR History

To be blunt, the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R's record in the world rally Championship was something of a failure. The GpA cars, run by Nissan Motorsports Europe, based at Milton Keynes , made their World Championship debut on the 1991 Safari Rally driven by former World Champion, Stig Blomqvist and British Champion David Llewellin .

Whiteline KCA 349 Rear Nissan Sub-Frame Align and Lock Kit

I installed these last summer with just wd40, socket set, possibly use a breaker bar for leverage or a really long wrench, torque wrench, jack and stands.

It really firms up the rear, you get better traction off the line, no slop in the subframe when turning and changing directions, it basically gives a tighter feel to the back of the car. It also really helps get the back end to slide more. It also gives it a much more predictable power slide.

Safe Boost Level To Run On A GTiR

What is a Safe boost level to run?? Answer: 0.8 to 0.9Bar is generally accepted as safe on a totally stock set up. With an uprated fuel pump/new plugs and maybe a fuel controller about 1-1.2bar is ok (A front mount is highly recommended for about 1bar and above and an uprated clutch is pretty much a must at this point) With stock internals still around 1.4 Bar can be run, but it must be mapped spot on to safe guard your engine. Please Note: The life of the standard turbo will also reduce the more you increase boost - Over about 1.0

ECU Fault Code Check.

I figured it would be a good idea to have some maintanence and iformative posts on here. I got these from the UK site. I hope no one there gets upset with me lol.

Switch ignition on but don't start the engine. In the grey plug under the fuse box, connect the two right pins (chk and ign) with a paper clip for example, for 3 seconds (the engine check light will turn off while you are shorting them out).
